Have you ever had an idea and didn't really pursue it to find out that someone else patented it and became a multi- millionaire?

I hate when that happens!

The problem isn't in seeing the possibility, it is actually getting a patent on it.
I have an invention I have been trying to get patented for 10 years now. The process is convoluted, expensive, and geared heavily against an individual with a utility patent.

Concept patents are easy, and it it frustrating to see some of the useless crap they waste time approving when the utility backlog is so enormous and expensive.
I came across patents for stupid crap in my searches. Did you know someone patented exercising your cat with a laser pointer? Swinging a child's swing side to side instead of front to back?

Frustrating ain't the word.
