We usually spend the day at VZDs - see the dancers and listen to the bagpipes off and on most of the day ... eating and drinking irish beer of course (never the GREEN stuff - its Smithwicks or Guinness only!)

This time we are going to Sean Cumming irish pub for a change.
They will have dancers and live music inside and out -- maybe some fish & chips for lunch then later head to VZDs to get our social fix...

I was going to go to the parade, but then someone told me there's no St. Patrick's Day parade on St. Patrick's day here in OKC????

Tomorrows my birthday. I work a nice 12-5pm shift, then I go to Edmond to bowl in my league. After that, it's off to Baker Street where my bowling teammate, who because of this holiday will not be getting the night off, will be bartending. Should mean a free drink or two on the house.

So, to all, Happy (OKCisOK4me) Day!!

Bought green tee shirts for the Little League team to wear tomorrow, seeing as how I'm a son of the sod.

    Parade happened over the weekend.

As for tomorrow, this English-Irish lass will be heading to Old Chicago in Edmond after work; not Sean Cummings' or McNellies, both of which I love (sorry, Sean!) But, since husband won a gift certificate for 45 free beers from some contest at Old Chicago, I'm going where the beers are flowin' for FREE!

I think we're doing B Street as well. Nice and close to home

Is it me or does anyone else wish OKC would celebrate the Saturday before St. Patty's (i.e. like Dallas). It would make the day much more enjoyable and you would have to worry about work the next day. I guess I'm just getting old.

I'm probably in the minority, but just wishful thinking.

over the weekend wasn't St. Patrick's day. Today is.

Seems almost to be a slap in the face to Irish Americans living here in Oklahoma.

In Oklahoma, your going to get better turnout at a weekend event. Holding it on a Tuesday would have meant only a few hundred showing up instead of a few thousand.

Just returned from Sean Cummings. Lots of people. Tent with bands. Fenced area outside the restaurant with beer trailer, tables, etc. Catfish trailer in the parking lot ran by the Harbor House guy with Catfish, Flounder, popcorn Shrimp, Chicken Tenders, Okra, Fries and sodas. Good atmosphere and crowd that will probably continue to grow as the day goes on.
