Respect their fellow man? LMAO! Like you do Super Dave? You're gonna smoke in public and kick anybodys ass that objects? Yeah, that's respect all right.

    Now that's funny right there.

No "Super Dave", you are the coward. A legend in your own mind.

But keep on whoopin' that internet butt you stud muffin.

Well, some people don't mind having faith in a creator or God to explain how the world as complex as it is could have possibly come about. But the bigger problem is just where the heck did God come from? Does he have a religion of his own to help explain where He came from?

But then again, arrogance is the hallmark of an atheist, anyway.

His existence stretches eternally into the past.

Eternal has no beginning (or end).

You could a least pay attention. Show me where I said I was going to kick someone's ass? I didn't. I don't fight.

My screen name is DaveSkater. Not Skater Dude, or Super Dave.

I never whooped any internet butt. I do not consider myself any kind of "legend".

I never called you a name, or put words in your mouth either.

Finally, I'm no coward. I actually post with my picture as my avatar, and I make no secret as to where I can be found.

You remind me of my ex wife. A classic nay saying name caller. Hell my small children act better than you do.

Either grow up and join us in adult conversation or kindly go away. Name calling and personal attacks are against the T.O.S here. Or did you not pay attention to them either when you signed up?

    Seriously.

You seriously can't see your exploding ego can you? And you start out like you are going to take the the high road in the conversation but you do the same thing you are attempting to accuse me of.

And you just told a bold faced lie that you did not imply that you would kick anyones ass. You tell everybody you are 6'-2" and 250 # and that you are bad enough to kick a 6"-4" Marines ass? Oh, that's classic. Oh, and you can smoke anywhere and "nobody better get in my personal space" or "he might just qualify for emminent danger. And met with deadly force". Right.

You can't seem to make a post without some kind of macho bluster. You are screaming "look at me!" "Look at me!"

Either discuss the issue in a logical fashion without all the bull**** bravado or take your own advice and go away.

    Give it a rest Davey.

Again, I'd kindly ask you to pay more attention. You have a propensity for putting words in peoples mouths, assuming, and name calling.

I never said I would kick any marine's ass. I don't fight. If said ex-marine decided to physically assault me and try to extinguish my lit cigar in one of my bodily orifices as you proposed, I would defend myself, as I am allowed to do under state law. It doesn't take a "baddass" or a 6'2" person to defend themself here in Oklahoma. You're not paying attention here. If I'm incapacitated enough to where another person was actually able to put out my cigar in one of my bodily orifices, I could assume that my life was being threatened. And would react according. Notice I said REACT and not ACT. React is a defensive position.

The only reason I made reference to my size is to illustrate that you can't just come up to me and snatch my cigar away like I was some little kid or defensless dweeb. And again, on the subject of paying attention, I never said I could smoke anywhere, as YOU put it. I said I can enjoy my cigar outside in the wide open. Typically Oklahoma wind see's to it that my smoke poses no danger to anyone. Again, words in my mouth from you.

No macho bluster either, only me sticking up for my rights that you would have trampled "for the good of society" or some other reason that I can't determine, nor wish to. I have the right to enjoy my legal cigar, out in the open outside. Legally. Without the threat of a 6'4 ex-marine coming along and physically assaulting me. Oh, and I see by your profile you're an ex-marine. 6'4" too, I'll wager. Please spare me the personal physical threats in the future. They too are against the T.O.S of this forum.

Cold unemotional logic has been in each of my posts, and I've never resorted to calling anyone a name. Again, my screen name is DaveSkater, not "Davey"
Thanks in advance for remembering that. (It's not superdave or skater dude either)

Dave, you are missing the point here. I understand self defense perfectly, believe me. What I have been trying to say to you is all that physical resume' posting is unnecessary to discuss smokers "rights".

That, my friend is why I am poking fun at you. And I apologize for the "Super" Dave and Skater "Dude" comments.

So you have broken these TOS you keep referring to I see.

Yes, I am an X-Marine, but not 6-4. I pulled that out of my hat just to mess with you. Could have just as easily been an Army Ranger or a SEAL, and size makes no difference to these men. I make no claims as to my personal ability. I was simply trying to make the point that it is unnecessary to post physical resumes in the discussion of social issues. Remember, Dave, you brought up the physical resume, not me.

I'm sure there is alot we agree upon, and you are probably a nice guy at heart, as am I. So why don't we agree to let this go and leave the physical resume's out of future correspondence?

Oh, and we should probably continue the smoking issue in the smoking thread instead of in the religion thread.

Fair dinkum. Apology tendered to Dave even before I saw your post.

Oh, and I'm not trolling, just having fun discussing local and national issues.

I dont get agnostics, or athiests.

Not their belief system, but that they're hell bent on letting everyone know about it.

They all wear clever tshirts, and have little Jesus/Darwin fish with legs on their cars. Agnostics love to start **** and dog on religion because it fills some kind of need in their life, they thrive on controversy.

I'm not going to try and psychoanalyze the average atheist or agnostic but they hate Christians. They hate them because they believe in something and that bothers your run of the mill agnostic. So they get off posting offensive videos online, making blasphemous jokes and generally doing anything they can to demean the faith of those that do believe. They bitch and moan about intolerance, yet they seam to be some of the most intolerant people on the planet.

But the vast majority of them do worship something. See, I consider myself a pretty well educated guy and I've noticed a pattern with people. Humans are almost hardwired to worship something, to submit to something bigger than themselves. People that dont believe in God worship nature. The similarities in practices the non-believers take part in are ferociously similar to those that bother them most, believers in a deity or intelligent supreme being. After all it takes a certain amount of faith to believe that over billions of years we magically evolved from single celled organisms into what we are today. Somehow became the only real intelligent species on the planet, a planet that magically landed in the perfect spot by the perfect star with the perfect amount of water with the perfect amount of gasses locked into the perfect amount of ozone to support our brand of life. That, for me, would take quite a bit of faith too.

I mean look at it, the way they try and save the whales, the trees, the um...great white sharks....in Oklahoma...almost with a zealot inspired passion.

So just dust this chump off your shoulder like the rest of the angry, cynical "rational animals" out there. I dont think I'm the only one that's questioned my faith, my belief in God, and my every day practices. There are so many questions I have, so many things that dont make sense or line up the way I'd like them too, there are so many strange coincidences that I wonder if they're God or just that...a strange coincidence. There are so many things that are questionable, but those of us that believe and really believe with an open mind, not tied down by dogmatic rules of religion, but a pure faith and love for their creator have something else.

I choose not to dwell to deeply on the questionable, I concentrate on what is UNDENIABLE to me.

If this guy/gal was open minded, tolerant, and intelligent enough to gasp that then I imagine s/he'll take this and just go away. After all tolerance isn't mutually exclusive, it's all inclusive. I dont see that happening though.

We do? Just looked this morning when I got dressed...no t-shirts like you describe in my closet. Checked the cars, and just as I recalled, not Darwin stickers.

I do enjoy controversy and spirited discussion. Got nothing to do with being Agnostic though.

Sorry, but I love you my brother. There is no hate in my heart. I will question your beliefs and misguided assumptions, but hate...not me.

Do tell. What do I worship? Worship is a word I have rejected since I was a child. Just can't grasp that concept.

"Worship" to me equates to "fear of the unknown". Perhaps unthinking humans are easily misled into worshipping something because they fear their own unknown origin. I believe an extremely intelligent and educated human grasped this fear and took the ancient superstitions to the next level and invented religion in order to control the masses through fear.

So, acknowledging that we humans live in an eco system with a circle of life in which all living beings play a part is worship? Not dumping pollution into our waters is worship? Understanding that this planet has a carrying capacity is worship?

No, that is common sense, my friend. Science and common sense.

"Not tied down by the dogmatic riules of religion". I like that. That means that religion and religious people are evolving slowly into reality, rejecting the ridiculous tennants of religion. My hope is that religion will eventually evolve itself out of existence. What a wonderful world it will be to not have humans fighting and killing one another over which "god" is the greatest, or who a particular god loves more.

Keep questioning and you will eventually become Agnostic. That is why you choose not to question. It is actually quite freeing to discard those old fear based beliefs called "faith".

Tolerance to you and many Christians and Muslims is that people like me should not be tolerated. That, my friend is religious Totalitarianism, and that makes you intolerant, not me.

Agonostics and Atheists tolerate religion, and question it. The questioning of the sacred cow of religion is what religious people are intolerant of.
