I love the dressing at Cattlemans, but the Ginger dressing at Shogun's beats it out. I could eat that stuff every day.

I always liked the tobasco caesar dressing from Pearl's Lakeside. I also like the caesar dressing from Outback.

Anything with ginger is good...when I buy it...the checker always has to ask the price from someone else and says..."it's that root thing"...ha!

Steve, I think maybe your question may have gone over most heads. Maybe it's because it burned up in the fireplace.

Good one, Steve...I had to look that one up...my remembrance of the movie is marginal...it was tedious to me (despite my love and trips to San Simeon--even have a sno-globe!)...all I remembered was that droning of "Rosebud" by Orson Welles...

We went to Catfish Cove tonight and I tried their garlic house. It was pretty darn good. I'm going to have to get that now when I go there.

I would like to know their REAL repeat customer rate...there just isn't anything there worth wanting twice. It WAS a good place in the 1960's...a very long time ago--and you can only live on memories so long...
Feel what you want... My thoughts are based on real experiences.....some a very long time ago....and some within the past year....to each his own...

Almost everyone I know agrees...it WAS where we took dates back in the day...1960-70's...just seems to me it is a mere shadow of what it once was. But, everyone sees things differently...I am still dragged there from time-to-time by old friends who think it will return...same old salad with milk/mayo dressing on top on white, bitter letttuce core with a cherry tomato atop...a steak that any Denny's on I-40 can beat...

You admit to eating steak at Denny's, that explains a lot.

I love Flip's house italian, as well. Funny thing is it's a bottled dressing called LaFlora Italian available from wholesale food suppliers. http://www.conwaydressings.com/vinaigrette.html
Flip's has always fessed up that it's not homemade.
