Does anyone know a good place to get a transmission flush?
Do you want to simply exchange the old fluid for new, or do you feel there is a need to run a cleaner through the trans fluid lines?
What symptoms are the transmission exhibiting that would make you feel it needs service?
I can tell you most shops aren't going to do a thorough exchange of old fluid for new. It's very time consuming and the cost is often not a selling point for most car owners. Most shops will do a simple drain and fill, which typically only replaces 35-40% of the fluid.
I, personally, am not a transmission "flush" fan. Many of the "flush" procedures push fluid "backwards" through the transmission, pushing valves and switches et al in the direction opposite they were designed to go. Unless you're experiencing specific symptoms that, somehow, a "flush" will *specifically* fix, I'd be happy with a normal drain and refill to get newer, cleaner fluid into the system. Just my $0.02. They *are*, however, a HUGE profit center for some garages/shops, and are sold/pushed very hard accordingly.
Never flush your transmission. Pushing fluid through there could break lose particles that could get caught in moving parts and damage your transmission. Drop the pan, drain the fluid, replace pan and gasket and refill.
*Disclaimer* Not a mechanic, but that's the advice I've received from mechanic friends.

This depends on what type of flush method is used. One method is to drop the pan and filter, and hook up a machine directly into the trans that pumps in new fluid In as it pushes the old fluid out.
Another method, that a lot of the quick lube places use, is a machine that hooks up to the coooler lines and uses the cars own engine to drive the trans pump to pump out the old fluid and pull in the new fluid at the same time. This method does not get all of the old fluid out, and unless you tell the shop to drop the pan and change the filter AFTER the flush is done, it probably won't get done.
Well I think I will ask for the 3x drain and refill. Seems wasteful but from what I've read it's the best. No signs from my vehicle, just pm work.
