Thread: Saddest Movie Scenes Ever

    Default Saddest Movie Scenes Ever

This is hard for me. It comes down to a couple off of the top of my head. The father scene in Click where Adam Sandler realizes what a dick he had been vs. the Brooks Was Here Scene in Shawshank Redemption.

I'll upload the full scene to Youtube where it gives more context if Youtube allows me to.

The part where Sandman Confesses in Spiderman 3 is really sad as well. I can't find the whole scene, so I'm going upload that to Youtube then post it here as well.

Forrest Gump when Forrest asks if his son is smart.

The Sgt Elias death scene at the end of Platoon comes to mind. Heart breaking scene with brilliant music behind it. That one always got me.

This scene from The Champ always gets me.

And then there's the end of Saving Private Ryan:

    I win!

Edit: So yeah, apparently that video was modified by some jerkoff, and I can't find the original one. Still, people should remember how it went.

I was just going to post this. Adagio for strings was the music.

Everyone seems to be thinking about relatively contemporary movies here. I tend to think more about some of the old classics. This is hard to beat as a tear jerker no matter when a movie was made.

Old Yeller (which I still can't watch) and Brian's Song are at the top of my list.

Also, the scene from Terms of Endearment where Debra Winger says goodbye to her kids on her deathbed.

And the scene from Born Free where they release Elsa into the wild.

They shot Terms at the hospital I worked at and my roommate was an extra in the movie. I got to meet Jack, Debra and Shirley. It was pretty cool. All the scenes from Texas were shot in Nebraska, they just put up different road signs for the shoot.

The end of the movie Mask. I have always loved the end credits with Bob Seger's Roll Me Away playing.

    Bigray in Ok

Pete beat me to it, but...

Also Bambi and Charlotte's Web had some scenes that were jarringly sad for children's animations.

Where the Red Fern Grows when the 2nd dog dies of a broken heart. There is nothing close to this. Not even Old Yeller.

The montage at the beginning of Up brings the feels.
