Heard about this last month when I got my oil changed at Paul's. Glad to see it wasn't just a rumor since I live about 4 blocks away!

Now if only we could get Sheetz or Wawa to set up a western outpost somewhere in the city...

[QUOTE=Pete;857420]The local franchisee of 7-11 deserves to be driven out of business.

Absolutely agree, and the sooner the better!

Besides cleanliness and design features like no doors, OnCue also goes beyond the minimum standards in terms of landscaping and overall building finishes and appearance. Local 7-11 management strictly adheres to the absolute bare minimums in all of those areas in an effort to keep is a cheap as possible. Their landscaping usually constitutes 3-5 gallon boxwoods surrounded by cigarette butt mulch and promptly die in the summer heat with no irrigation.

It looks like a lot but of course, there are way more 7-11's around:

Pete, there is also one in Edmond a little south of 2nd St.

Does OnCue have a flagship store? I feel like they all could be flagship stores. All of them are so nice.

It's a group out of Stillwater.

All their locations are in Oklahoma, most centered around OKC.

    7-11:

Either no restrooms or 1 small one if it's not locked or out of order.
    Only Ethanol fuel.
    No lottery tickets.
If you buy something to drink and pay with a $20; watch them get change out of both registers and have the safe dispense single bills in plastic tubes. If you pay with something larger; your going to be there a while.

At the SW 15th and MacArthur store; is that their corporate office or a training center or warehouse or what?

The 7-11's around me have both e-10 and 100% gas. I also want to say I thought they sold lotto tickets, but I may be wrong as that's not something I shop for.

When lottery was set up, the retailers were (are?) required to keep cash on hand for payouts up to $600.00 7/11 thought it put their employees at risk to have access to that much cash. (robberies)

There is a 7-11 one block from me that has both kinds of gas and two restrooms. I'm not concerned about selling lottery tickets. I have absolutely no problem with 7-11's policy about making change and keeping small amounts of cash in the register. It keeps their employees safer and I think that is a plus.

I think 7/11 is starting to feel the pinch of On Cue. Some (not all) of their stores have been stepping up their game.
    More choices for soft drinks
    100% gasoline
    better lighting.

Still think On Cue is way better. On a par with QT

I exclusively do business at OnCue. I will drive past several 7/11's on the way to OnCue.

Heard from the vet's office that they will not be selling to OnCue. They did confirm that OnCue approached them, but the offer was not good enough.

I bet they can make the site work without the vet.

    Excited to hear the news!

I never understood why the Village allowed Discount Tire to build at that location only to see them vacate so soon. It would definitely be a difficult job to try to lure a new business to occupy the space. I'm sure The Village city council was desperate for revenue dollars when they approved Discount Tire.

Like all deals, it seemed good at the time. It would be nice if every city council had an oracle on their staff.

Too expensive, I'll bet most of them go with SQL...

You know, I've always mildly hated that SQL Server co-opted the name of the language for their database product. My mild rebellion is to always refer to the product as Sequel Server and the language by the abbreviation.

Same here, only 10 years ago. I don't imagine it's improved much. I couldn't get out of the interview soon enough.

It hasn't. The UNIX guy was on vacation during my interview, so I was "interviewed" by a Windows guy, who pretty much told me that the UNIX guy has all the knowledge in his head and keeps it from everybody and the Windows guy was thinking about leaving because of the crappy atmosphere. Hell of a thing to encounter in an interview...

The Circle K on 122nd & Penn was mysteriously boarded up and de-badged.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a demo and an OnCue placed in that location. The entire corner, including the properties containing the now closed gas station and KFC are owned by the same LLC.

Would be a great store for them, as the 7-11 cater-corner has horrible ingress/egress...
