Drove by on the way home last night, neon still isn't hooked up. I'm guessing they're still working the bugs out.
Just got solid info that the Broadway 10 folks will also be putting in an upscale bar in down the street. Not sure if that means Broadway or 10th.
Sounds like the plan is to flip the switch on the Buick sign this Thursday @ 9PM as part of the monthly Auto Alley Shop Good event.
Saw it today in person for the first time driving down Broadway and it is going to be AWESOME. Puts into perspective how big that building actually is, as I know the sign is in no way small yet it doesn't look outlandishly giant (or even especially large) when atop the building. Just appropriately-sized. It's a really, really well-done addition.
Here are a few great stills from Will.
They turn on the sign for the first time tonight at 8PM.
Please forgive my laziness in research, but ...
Is that an original sign or a recreation?
Will is on the scene to capture the first time the Buick sign was switched on:
Thanks, Will! That is awesome.
NewsOK Video of the sign lighting.
Looks like I made an unexpected cameo.
Sorry for the big images and slow loading but these are worth it:
Wow. Better than I thought it would be.
That sign is awesome!
Deleted. Missed where Will had earlier posted the video.
I really really like the sign, but does anyone else feel like it is awkwardly high in relation to the roof of the building?
Drove by tonight and it's even better in person.
I saw this for the first time today. I love it. I really think visually, Broadway through Auto Alley is easily OKC's most impressive street. It will be amazing to see how the area develops when the Metropolitan gets built and more people are living there.
Love this building, especially the windows!
