...born in Tulsa 11 September 1977; moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1980; returned stateside in '86 and attended Jenks east in Tulsa for a brief stint; moved to Yukon in '87; moved to Columbus, Ohio in '91; returned to OKC in '95 two months shy of my 18th birthday.

Proud to call Oklahoma City 'home'.

Earlier I said I was born in St Anthony's but not when. It was April 23, 1959. At least three of us within a few months.

Born in Clinton and raised in OKC. I was in speech and drama in highschool, so I have managed to become accent neutral. Its funny how when I travel out of state that people can not understand why I dont have an accent.

Born in Florida (Air Force brat). Dad got orders to Altus in '92 then Tinker in '96. Other than two years in Stillwater for graduate work, I've been in MWC/OKC/Edmond since '96.

Transplant. I've lived in Illinois my whole life before this, and came to Oklahoma about 5 weeks ago, intending to make it my new home. I came looking for work, figuring the unemployment rate of 5.7% is much lower than Illinois' 8.7%, and also knowing OKC was supposed to have an even lower unemployment rate in the 4s, one of the lowest in the nation among major cities.

I figured the warmer weather and more socially conservative politics would be amenable to my nature, and the only two boxing toughman contests this year are being held in Oklahoma. Overall, I had a variety of reasons for coming.

Yes! Member of First Families of the Twin Territories on four sides of the house! For those of you who are not original Okies, FFTT is for those who can prove their relatives were here at [or before] statehood and whose families have lived here in OK continually since. So I'm about as "Okie" as they come; never really "lived" in any other state--just "visited" them! That's why I chose the name "old okie" for myself...and yes, I am old!

And you may have discovered that as actual human beings we are a LOT nicer than we are on this forum. :-)

Born in 1943 at St. Anthony. Other than military service in the 60's to copy another post, the furthest I have lived from OKC is Edmond. My mother is a Member of First Families of the Twin Territories.

Born, raised and still living right here in OKC.

It's been fun to stay here and watch the city change over the decades.

I have friends and family that have moved away and they're amazed at how things have changed.

They seriously don't recognize certain parts of the city anymore.

Born somewhere in Wesley (don't remember, was quite young at the time), raised in OKC, left town in the seventies, lost in Texas for a few years, and back to central Oklahoma. Now living in the southern part of the state but I travel to OKC often. Some parts don't change much, but others are practically unrecognizable. Proud to be from OKC and from Oklahoma in general.

Nah, you're nicer on the forums ; ) I had somebody try to run me over walking across the street today, and have a lot of bad experiences with the people in charge of various institutions, particularly those government associated. In all seriousness, I find the people homeless nicer than the rest of the city.

As a side note, I also came because the only two boxing contests held by the Toughman organization are in OK this year, one in Lawton (past now) and one in Muskogee. I've been going to college or working for the government most of the past 8 years since graduating high school, or going to pro baseball tryouts during the summer (played for an independent league team last year, the Reds of the NAHA league, as a starting centerfielder and erstwhile pitcher), so I haven't had this experience of coming to a new town and being in shelters to try and work my way up, but it's definitely an eye-opening experience how people just treat you like dirt and assume you're worthless because you no longer have a car and all the amenities.

So like I said, nicer on the forums. : )

I was born just a bit behind the other St. Anthony babies, 1964. And I had a great grandma who was in the Cimarron Land Run.
