Last night Edmond sounded their storm sirens when a severe thunderstorm was approaching the city. Numerous TV meteorologists had to reassure viewers that there was no tornado threat in Edmond.
Initial Speculation was that lightning may have caused the sirens to inadvertently be sounded. To find out today, this was intentional to alert people at Lake Arcadia, on boats.
This caused unnecessary fright to residents, especially those that lost electricity. They were audible from 2nd & Fretz, inside! I'm sorry, but last night's storm was moving VERY slow and if people on boats can't deduce that it is heading for them (or don't have a weather radio), they have no business piloting a boat.
