Thread: What I think is a fun question for everyone...

Trying to come up with 10 pop/rock songs is hard! I've been out of touch
with the rock and pop scene for over 30 years and many of those tunes have
faded. I toured with bands that performed covers back in the 70's. I listen
to KRXO on occasion and hear tunes that bring back memories.

I'm doing some listening right now and will come with a list shortly, or tally.

Coming up with 10 songs isn't a problem, it's listening to them for the rest
of my life that's the problem. I can't think of anything I'd want to listen to
for the rest of my life! Maybe I'll have to bow out of this one.

Here's a list of 10 Rock/Pop songs that I could listen to for the rest of my
life providing I died tomorrow. These are not necessarily my all time favorite
songs of that vein but a list.

    25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
    Fever - Peggy Lee
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - CS&N
In the Summertime - Mongo Jerry
Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home - Grand Funk Railroad
Crazy - Patsy Cline but written by Willie Nelson
Low Spark of High Heeled Boys - Traffic
    I'm Your Vehicle, Baby - BS&T
The Medley (Side two of Abbey Road) - The Beatles

I liked Traffic and was a Steve Winwood fan. There are other groups in that
style that I listened to quite a bit. King Crimson was another fave.

Wait just a minute. This is another thread started by the fictitious(?)
TeriOKC! This may another attempt to get us to start another monthly
    meeting that she won't attend!

Let's not make the meeting place the Red Dog, Balcony Club or the Jail West.

They had a segment interviewing John Prine a couple of weeks ago on World Cafe on KXT 91.7 | Public Music Radio for Dallas Fort Worth Denton and he said it was based on a composite of a couple of guys he grew up with.
