When I was in the fourth grade in 1974 a retired Warr Acres police officer came to my class to talk to us about the dangers of drugs. He had a paper sack that he claimed contained 200 bottles of pills he confiscated from Johnny Cash at N.W. 39th and McArthur in 1968. This is probably related to the arrest mentioned.

I remember when the arrest happened. Johnny Cash was supposed to play at Springlake when he got busted. There was enough political clout from the Springlake people that he did the show and was hustled out of town. USG60 can probably put a little more light on it. Also, that was when Henson Cargill (OKC BOY) was coming on the scene and they were hustling him and Cash all town trying to keep people guessing.....

I'm shocked, but I knew nothing about it. Henson usually brought his friends in to see us at David's Menswear when they were in town .....Hank Jr, Waylon, etc. Now I'm mad at him; I would have like to have met JC.

I remember there being a video for the song that actually played on MTV (for those of us old enough to remember when MTV played music videos). It had a fish head that bounced along with the lyrics on the bottom of the screen.

I just watched the Roy Orbison special on PBS here in N.C. and although I've been a fan since the 50's it just reminded me how talented he was.

One of the best concerts I saw in the 60's was the Jefferson Airplane at the Civic Center, on a very foggy night.... that stands out in my mind as the foggest (sp?) I can remember in OKC.
