Thread: Highway 74

    Default Highway 74

So today they posted new signs lowering the speed limit to 55 and labeling it as construction farther north then they had before. I was under the impression the new 4 lane was ending where it is now and going south to memorial road, was I misinformed or are they up to something else?

anyone have a link to the plans for 74. I noticed they have cleared land all the way south to Covell, but I'm just wondering what they plan to do once they get past there?

If anyone has a link to specific plans, those would still be welcome but...

The part of 74 I was referring to (Waterloo Rd. North), they are repaving. I personally don't feel that it needs to be done, but that's my opinion.

& SoonerDustin, this is from an Edmond Sun article...
"When the entire S.H. 74 corridor reconstruction is complete, the road will be five lanes between Memorial Rd. and Waterloo Rd. at the Logan County line. The overall reconstruction of the corridor began at the north end to address much needed bridge repairs in the area."

Thank you. That will be great for us folks who live on Waterloo. For now, an easy way to bypass traffic.

Why does this project look like it's going nowhere? The dirt work has been the same for months. They just keep on smoothing it over and over. They are taking forever to complete the bridges. Gosh I can't wait until hwy 74 is 5 lanes from memorial to covell. I can barely contain myself during 5 o'clock rush hour.

Now if they'd only put a spur in over to I-35 :-)

Actually, they are going to widen wither Waterloo or Covell from 74 to I-35 to 4-5 lanes.

It's Covell Road. You can read all about it on Home | City of Edmond, Oklahoma

That only appears to be widening at the point of the railroad tracks, not all the way to I-35, although I do think they "intend" to do that at some point.
