Default Huge 4th of July celebration state fair themed

Okay this is what I have been hearing.. as usual the fireworks will be a buck thomas park off of 12th street, it will also have arts in the park, this year though it will be huge. over 100 arts and creft venders plus an additional 20 venders on july 4th( pony rides, cotton candy stands etc) Also there is going to be a huge carnival, with more rides than a normal carnival they said it will havea state fair feel to it. they are expecing 50,000 people of july 4th alone.. How are they going to plan this for 50,000, where will the rides be located, there isnt enough parking as it is.. Does anybody know of the layou of this big event?

Is Brewer not picking this one up again at the downtown air park?

I think we're talking about Moore, not OKC

I do the same thing...Just hit "New Posts" at the top of the page to see all the posts since my last visit.

But growing up in Moore keyed me on the "Buck Thomas" part. I played ball there as a kid.

The Brewer one at the downtown air park was dreadful last year. We paid to park and get in and seen they wanted us to pay again so the kids could be entertained waiting in lines to play on a moon walk......we walked right back out and went to the Bethany park celebration which was fantastic.

Last time we went to the moore park 4th of july we waited an hour in the parking lot trying to exit when it was over.

well, a lot of people park in the neighborhood by the park or ark at the old pratts parking lot on 12th and eastern and walk it about 1/2 mile. The neighboorhood by windingcreek has some parking on winding creek road, there is a stretch on that street where there is no houses, so parking shouldnt be a problem..getting ou of that park does take forever, so best bet would be to park at the pratts shopping center and just cross at the lights on 12th and eastern

My sister lives directly across from the skate park on 12th so we always get a good parking spot. We usually walk over to the park for food and fun and then back to their house to float in the pool while we watch the fireworks.

All day ride bands for the rides will be 25.00 kinda pricey in my opinion since frontier city is only 27.99.. there is a list of rides on the moore monthly magazine.. I am taking my little kids to it, my little girl is tall enough for the kiddie rides. I will probably go july 3rd in evening, it will be way to crowded july 4th they are still expecting up to 50,000 people in that park (CRAZY)

took my kids to the carnival

pricy $1.00 for each ticket for a kiddie ride its 3 tickets..
    32 oz drink was $5.00
so very pricey carnival.. but my kids loved it.. The carnival rides where fun, I decided on the games to just do this duck game where everyone isa winner $3 for small prize $ 5 for a large, both my kids got a small prize but Thet left thinking they won it somehow, so thats all that counts to me... It is very hot out there take water, the rest of the events out at the park are really fun, there is a free tatoo booth, and if you want shade for your kids try the large sandbox, it has a big tent over it... All in all it was really fun, just parking is crazy.. if any of you are going to the buck thomas park tonight get there early and good luck..

Went last night also. Gave my 15 year old $20 and it didn't last long. Took my 6 year old on a few of the kid rides and she had fun. Total cost for 4 people was around $50. We didn't get there till 8pm and we left after fireworks so it was worth it.
Fireworks show this year seemed longer but seemed farther north that last year and the finale seemed a little lamer than last year. I noticed they played the same music as last year too.
Still though, it was a good time.

I was going to go...But wound up rocking my face off at Eufala with some Skynard.

While we didn't go to the park, we did watch the fireworks from the Grandy's parking lot on 12th street.

I must say that while the show was good, it wasn't as good as previous years. It lasted just barely under 10 minutes, which seemed a bit shorter than before and the finale was very lackluster.
