Speaking of "just not right", but this is the perfect opportunity to ask, and sorry for the thread hijack, but hopefully somebody knows. Any clue about a Mexican sushi food trailer at the little C store on the east side of May across from Taft? We've driven past a couple of times, but haven't been able to stop and can't find anything on the net about it.
Never tried the lobster roll at Flint but can report that the one at The Manhattan (along with the crab cakes) are legit.

THE DRAKE SEAFOOD AND OYSTERETTE TO CLOSE SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST 2025
OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 13, 2025) – A Good Egg Dining Group announced today that The
Drake Seafood and Oysterette will be closing its doors in the Uptown 23rd District on
Saturday, February 1st after its final dinner service.
“We want to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who has been a part of The
Drake’s incredible 10-year journey. From our passionate team members to our loyal guests
and the vibrant Oklahoma City community, your support and shared love of seafood have
defined the spirit of this restaurant.” Said Heather Paul, Chief Operating OSicer and Co-
Founder of A Good Egg Dining Group.
“As we close this chapter on The Drake’s story, we are thankful for the countless warm
memories created within these walls. It has been a privilege to serve our community for
these last 10 years.” Said Keith Paul, Chief Executive OSicer and Co-Founder of A Good Egg
Dining Group.
The Drake Seafood and Oysterette will be open until February 1st for any guests who would
like to say their farewells one last time.
My understanding is that they are at the end of a 10-year lease and decided not to renew.
I'm not a seafood fan so never gone, but I've otherwise enjoyed the rest of the Good Egg restaurants so sad to see this one close regardless. Its also fairly prominent on the corner. Hopefully something decent comes in as a replacement.
This might be one of the most hit or miss restaurants in OKC. Sometimes it would be incredible, other times your have uncooked chicken and the wait staff throws a fit when you point it out.
It's a shame. I love all Good Egg restaurants. I'm not a seafood fan so I only went to the Drake once, with a group, but it was really good, we all enjoyed the food and vibes. I hope this let's them focus on a new concept!
I was worried about them from day one for this reason and this reason only. Unfortunately OKC is an absolutely terrible market for seafood, especially seafood that is elevated and even SLIGHTLY adventurous. There is a massive swath of the population that won't even CONSIDER seafood, and many of the folks who tell you they "like" it OK are probably talking specifically about Cajun, or maybe occasional fried catfish at a restaurant that carries it on the menu alongside fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Good Egg fought the good fight in that location for a decade (hard to believe it's been that long), and OKC was better for their time here.
Bummer to see The Drake go. They had a terrific Happy Hour at the bar, and it seemed (to me) so much different than any other place in OKC. And just think back 15 years ago, when that block was a real eyesore before this building was redone.
RIP to one of the best cheeseburgers in town, as well. Very underrated on that front, in addition to the solid seafood.
