Default Future Conventions as of 6/7/22

Below is the first page of a new report of the upcoming conventions in OKC.

You can see the full PDF and it features tons of horse shows.

What does "Peak" mean in this context?

Nice to see that activity at the Convention Center/Omni picks up fairly substantially on subsequent pages of the calendar. I imagine it takes quite some time to build up convention bookings - hopefully they will continue to build and build over the next year or two.

It doesn't look like there is much, if any, bookings driven by the new convention center.

I would think that traditional convention traffic is still way, way down.

If I was running a big organization, not sure how much effort I'd put into planning a big event with people coming in from all over the country. Things have been changing very rapidly every few months.

The Omni looks like a hit. Just not the convention center. Time will tell.

It's ridiculous to judge the convention center right now for attendance in the same way it's ridiculous to judge the streetcar by ridership. The pandemic greatly affected both of these items, and continues to do so.

It seems like you are calling it out before it even steps in the batters box.

Employers are having a hard enough time getting employees to socialize in person with their own coworkers in the office. Now add high travel prices to the mix. The later may be here to stay for the foreseeable future.
