Come off that high seahorse, JBoss, because it’s really good.

One of the best lobster rolls in the country is in Park City, UT, they fly live lobster in daily for their rolls. They won some competition in Maine a couple of years ago. It can be done right, but I'm not certain how Cousins does theirs.

Speaking of "just not right", but this is the perfect opportunity to ask, and sorry for the thread hijack, but hopefully somebody knows. Any clue about a Mexican sushi food trailer at the little C store on the east side of May across from Taft? We've driven past a couple of times, but haven't been able to stop and can't find anything on the net about it.

Anyway, back to the Drake. Anxious to check out the revived location and tweaked menu.
they made sure the flint lobster roll was legit when that place opened ...... nothing like having an east coast boss.

Never tried the lobster roll at Flint but can report that the one at The Manhattan (along with the crab cakes) are legit.

Have you tried it yet? It’s at least worth a try I’m telling you it’s a damn good lobster roll.

I want to say they're related, but the lobster roll at Rococo is great as well.

Ya know how some posters in this sub forum will shun a place based on the name of the place?
That's my sentiments on a lobster roll out of a truck in Oklahoma. Just, no thanks.

Please report back if you stop and try it, I've been meaning to stop there as well but I don't know if they take cards.

I'm not a sushi fan, but know some friends who tried it and said it was pretty good.

GTK. If it's not too much trouble, can you ask them what the name of it is (I like to do a bit of research before I eat at places, saves me the trouble of actually going there sometimes. )?

is this some new title or just a misprint in the release?

My understanding is that they are at the end of a 10-year lease and decided not to renew.

I'm not a seafood fan so never gone, but I've otherwise enjoyed the rest of the Good Egg restaurants so sad to see this one close regardless. Its also fairly prominent on the corner. Hopefully something decent comes in as a replacement.

This might be one of the most hit or miss restaurants in OKC. Sometimes it would be incredible, other times your have uncooked chicken and the wait staff throws a fit when you point it out.

It's a shame. I love all Good Egg restaurants. I'm not a seafood fan so I only went to the Drake once, with a group, but it was really good, we all enjoyed the food and vibes. I hope this let's them focus on a new concept!

I was worried about them from day one for this reason and this reason only. Unfortunately OKC is an absolutely terrible market for seafood, especially seafood that is elevated and even SLIGHTLY adventurous. There is a massive swath of the population that won't even CONSIDER seafood, and many of the folks who tell you they "like" it OK are probably talking specifically about Cajun, or maybe occasional fried catfish at a restaurant that carries it on the menu alongside fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Good Egg fought the good fight in that location for a decade (hard to believe it's been that long), and OKC was better for their time here.

Exactly this. Honestly it's a testament they made it 10 years and continued to operate after the pandemic. I figured that would be the end of it. Unfortunately just too many people who won't eat seafood around here.

Bummer to see The Drake go. They had a terrific Happy Hour at the bar, and it seemed (to me) so much different than any other place in OKC. And just think back 15 years ago, when that block was a real eyesore before this building was redone.

RIP to one of the best cheeseburgers in town, as well. Very underrated on that front, in addition to the solid seafood.

One of my favorite spots for a Happy Hour Burger. I will be having one before they close no doubt!
