    Default Oozie Mediterranean

Went to Oozies for lunch today and enjoyed it. It's family owned and they are very nice. The middle eastern food (Lebanese) is top notch. We had Hashwah (Rice and meat), chicken schwarma and a lentil and rice dish. Also had Kibbeh as appetizer and it was excellent. There was a nice Gazette article on it not too long ago and one of our neighbors also went and enjoyed it. So had to try it out and can give it a thumbs UP. Several people were enjoying what looked like good burgers. Salads also looked great.

Hours are strange cause it is in office building (1211 N. Shartel) - closes at 5 PM.

Do you happen to know the owner's name?

Thanks for the link. I look forward to trying it. I just went to their website and the Lebanese food looks authentic and good. Just wish it was open past 5 and on weekends. Makes it hard to get there unless you work close by.

Definitely authentic food. And agree that the hours make it tough. I happened to have time today to take a little longer.... and glad I did.

If you have not tried this place...do so. It is fantastic!

I wonder why they have to close at 5pm? Hopefully that restriction will get removed and the local market can dictate hours (that they stay open late ).

They are in an office building that I am guessing closes at 5. We went today to try, it was ok. Not sure I would go back. Nice people but pretty generic food was the the opinion of my lunch date and myself.
