Not that it's a big deal, but Sonic Corp has two subsidiaries, one of which is Sonic Industries, Inc. It's the franchisor for Sonic Corp. The other one is Sonic Restaurants, Inc. which operates its Corporate Drive Ins.

Sonic industries is the parent corporation. Trust me. My dad's company did the underwriting when Sonic went public.

Look, I was just trying to help your case by pointing out there was a Sonic Industries related to the Drive Ins. For five years I owned part of six franchises, so you can trust me. In 1995, Sonic Corp restructured all of its holdings into two subsidiaries, Sonic Industries Inc. and Sonic Restaurants, Inc.

On another note, I'm cool with the Oklahoma City Sonics name. However, too much branding of the team with the Drive Ins would be worse for our image than many of the so called "hickish" names we could wind up with.

    I agree.

to andy: Sonic Corp. Corporate Profile

Sonic Corp. is clearly the parent company name. There probably is a subsidiary Sonic Industries, but I could find no mention of it on the site. Also Wikipedia lists the company officially as Sonic Corp.

Good point. It's at least just as bad.

I think you're forgetting about the free tots when there's 5 dunks in the 3rd...

just kidding. BTW, has that ever happened?

But, good point. Sonic may not even need to brand the team. All they have to do is get their name in the building and the ad synergy is there for much much cheaper.

LOL! That reminded me of Napolean Dynamite...tots.. tee hee

Oh please, please don't let us associate fast food with a basketball team should they come here.

We need to shed the image of Route 44 Dr Pepper slurpers.. and obesity brought on by overconsumption of fast foods.

    Fried Pickles anyone?

Yeah, escan still carries them around in his pocket. He's pretty stingy with them, though.

Are you gonna finish your tots?

And Karried, are you against Dr. Peppers and fast food 'cause you think you're fat? 'Cause you're not; you could be eating fast food if you wanted to.
...this shortest straw has been pulled for you
