With the exception of popular favorites such as "Miracle on 34th Street," and "It's a wondeful life," what is your favorite Christmas movie, and why?

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
^^Second. We watch this every year in my family.
Still corrupting young minds
Third!! we watch this also, and Home Alone, oh and Santa Claus (Tim Allen one).
Christmas Vacation gets my vote.
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
Scrooged with Bill Murray. Absolutely hilarious, yet still gets the traditional Scrooge message across. Personal favorite scenes include the mouse antlers and the kicking angel. The Annie Lennox/Al Green duet alone is worth the price of admisson.

Saw...Classic when he has to cut off his own hand to get free...Really brought the family together
^^Easy, you're a sick man.
Christmas Story! I'm loving the Cingular commercials based off that movie.

Of course Sweetdaisy, I completely forgot about that one.. I absolutely loved that movie.. remember the Leg Lamp? ha,ha - that kid's facial expression was priceless...
Yeah Saw is up there too.. nothing like screaming in unison to bring those we love closer to us ( closer as in the middle of the night when the kids have nightmares ha,ha) No, jk - I don't let my 9 year old watch.. trust me, I learned my lesson after taking him to a scary movie one time.. a movie I didn't know would be that horrifying.... The Descent - omg!
Comes out December 26th, just in time for Christmas family bonding...

I better go with the short list:
*A Christmas Story
*Scrooged
*The Polar Express
*Christmas Vacation
*A Christmas Carol (1939)
I totally forgot about the Polar Express. I took my kids to see that in the theatre. That is possibly the BEST kids Christmas movie I have seen in A LONG time. I LOVE that movie. We bought it, I think it is a classic.
^ It really is an instant classic. That's why I gave it the bump on my list.
And speaking of classics, Rudolph the Red-Nose Reigndeer comes on Friday @ 7pm! We're not going out that night so I think I'll check it out this year.
ABC Family is showing Christmas movies (I think) every night until Christmas.
Do you remember watching all those movies when we were little? I loved those movies but for some reason my kids aren't all that in to them.. I blame it on technology and the fact that everything is so advanced now.
But, I lived for the Christmas season and was so thrilled to see Frosty the Snowman and my favorite was Rudolph with the scary snow monster!
What's your favorite Christmas Song?
My favorite is 'O Holy Night'.. I heard it done by Il Divo and it is stunning.. brought me to tears... my other fav is Little Drummer Boy.. is that the name of that song? 'I play my drums for him, par um pam pam pa (sp) .. me and my drum' ?
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
Karried, I'm right there with you on your entire post. Love the classic Frosty & Rudolph movies. What are those, anyway? they aren't "claymation", but they aren't really cartoons, either. regardless, those are FAVORITES of mine.
Also, the Christmas songs...'O Holy Night' is by far the best Christmas song ever. It brings tears to my eyes every time. I've got a CD with Nat King Cole singing it, and words cannot describe how it touches me. 'Little Drummer Boy' is next on the list and then "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" (anyone heard Bare Naked Ladies version of this? Love it...mixed with 'We 3 Kings', and is really cool).
Wow. Must get my Christmas music out...ooh! Maybe I'll order some Christmas music while I'm at it!

OMG, forgot about the always-moving "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

Great news! Tomorrow night Friday starting at 7 ....

" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
"A Christmas Story" for me...hands down! "Frag...eeeeeely...must be Italian!" I love that movie.
My kids love the old Frosty and Rudolph movies and peanuts.
While the Peanuts Christmas special isn't technically a movie, it's definitely a classic! Does anyone know when it will air this year? Hope I haven't missed it.
