Default Live Skate-Cam returns to City Channel 20

Live SkateCam returns to City Channel 20

City Channel 20, the City’s government access cable channel, is again featuring its Live SkateCam from the Civic Center Ice Rink during “Downtown in December.”

The rink will be open from noon to 10 p.m. daily through January 1.

The SkateCam has proven to be a highly popular feature of the annual “Downtown in December” celebrations. SkateCam is on the air at the top of the hour and every half hour between noon and 6:30 p.m.

Organizers credit the SkateCam with attracting skaters who otherwise might not have known about the temporary rink.

Citizens can also check the SkateCam to find out how crowded the rink is before coming downtown to skate.

SkateCam is presented by City Channel 20 and the Public Information and Marketing Office.

To watch the Live Skate-Cam, go to www.okc.gov.

There are times when nobody is on the skating rink, however, most of the times that I have tuned in, there are some that are skating. I usually see around 15-20 skating when I check out the skate cam.

I drove by there about 4:30 this afternoon and the place was packed with skaters.

Just wait until school gets out, it will be packed! It's always slow the first couple of weeks.

Make sure and take a look today at noon, the Blazers will do an outdoor practice until 1:00. Better yet, bundle up and come out, grab a Braum's burger, and catch the action live!
