Sorry for the delay. Hot and boring for a few days.

Hot? Under 90° passes for hot in Oklahoma these days?

I guess the humidity probably makes it feel hotter?

Humidity makes a big difference. The most miserable heat I have experienced was 104*F in Charlotte. I've spent time in Phoenix, outside, when it was 110*F and it wasn't as bad.

Yeah...humidity is going to make it feel pretty terrible until we dry out.

Also, when it was in the 60s several times over the last couple of weeks, and then suddenly 90, it feels a lot hotter than it would have if we had gradually gotten ourselves there. I was still wearing a fleece zip up jacket last week and often got chilled from the damp, cool weather. And I'm a warm-natured person!

And with all the rain we've had, it should be extra sticky.....ugh.......

Really do need some time too dry out. The mosquitoes are out of control. I wonder how soon until the first west nile infection report?

The mosquitos are gigantic this year. I got pierced through my shirt the other day, I thought it was a different bug since it was so large. Nope, just a pterodactyl mosquito.

I have seen a LOT of Mosquito Joe signs around the area and in yards!

Yeah... I had one wrap a tourniquet around my upper arm and ask me to make a fist the other day.

    Hahahahaha!!!

They're swarming in our yard like gnats. And we don't have any standing water anywhere.

This sticky, humid heat really reminds me of the east coast.

Hopefully the giant palmetto cockroaches don't start appearing here.

I hate those bloody things. They used to rule the barracks at Keesler AFB back in the day. The mosquitoes are giving OBI a run for blood donations.

Looking like maybe another inch of rain coming next week.

CO has more tornadoes than most people understand but they are mostly out in the deserted plains or very brief small rope funnels. The ones in the east can be huge but are in open country.

SLGT Risk today for far NW OK...MRGL for Northern OK. Hail and wind main threats if anything manages to come our way.

So it looks like there is a chance of rain almost every day this week. Will these be overnight NW flow MCS storms?

  23. Default Re: General Weather Discussion - June 2015

Rain chances increasing towards the end of the week. Should help to cool things down for a bit...

I think OG&E has a deal with Mother Nature to maximize their Smart Hours revenue.
