Hands down winner, house dressing a Cattleman's Steak House
I cannot help but feel these thoughts are based on advertising and not experience. Cattlemen's is a dirty place--old and shop-worn with sticky tables and crowded with people who saw advertising that is quite effective. I would like to know their REAL repeat customer rate...there just isn't anything there worth wanting twice. It WAS a good place in the 1960's...a very long time ago--and you can only live on memories so long...
Almost everyone I know agrees...it WAS where we took dates back in the day...1960-70's...just seems to me it is a mere shadow of what it once was. But, everyone sees things differently...I am still dragged there from time-to-time by old friends who think it will return...same old salad with milk/mayo dressing on top on white, bitter letttuce core with a cherry tomato atop...a steak that any Denny's on I-40 can beat...
I like the House dressing at The Nomad as well.
Simple answer when one thinks about it...Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing...made from the envelope (NOT the bottle)...made with Hellmann's Mayo and half & half...give it a day to set up properly...
I loved the old French dressing at Sirloin Stockade, the garlic French at Pick's Fine foods, Colonial dressing at Bob Evan's, house dressing at Nomad's,Sesame Ginger at Red Robin,Cattleman's dressing
Caesar dressing made at the table, from scratch, at Juniors.
Agree on the Garlic French dressing at Pick's.
We went to Catfish Cove tonight and I tried their garlic house. It was pretty darn good. I'm going to have to get that now when I go there.
Cattleman's house dressing and the ranch that comes with your carrot and celery sticks at Wing Stop. We take big batches of that stuff home and use it as salad dressing!
My pick? The BBQ Ranch at Iron Starr!
Nothing...nothing...is easier to learn how to make than your own salad dressing. Taste is quite different with everyone...how hard is it to do it yourself? I would hate to be so helpless as to not know how...even mayonnaise is quite easy...it only takes a little learning and the right ingredients and the proper tools.
I've only been to Cattleman's a few times, but I did enjoy the steaks and the "unique" atmosphere. I'm just not a fan of the salad dressing.
house dressing at VZDs - a garlic-y ranch
house italian at Flip's or the creamy cucumber at Flip's (maybe just in summer?)
Cattlemen's house dressing was featured on Food Network (Diners, Drive-ins & Dives ?)
After further reflection, I do recall that I am fond of the creamy garlic dressing at Charleston's.
The basil balsamic vinaigrette at Signature Grill or the ceasar at Michaels.
I'm not a huge salad fan, but the salad dressing at Tokyo is my favorite.
