Thread: Google Maps

  1. #1

    Default Google Maps

I spend about 75% of my online time researching my ancestry. I have several addresses of where my Grandparents and Great-Grandparents lived in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Is there a way to save a "street view" from Google Maps to my computer (other than taking a pic of the screen with my digital camera)?

Alt-print_screen will copy the current window. You can then paste it to some other program to save it.

To JTF: Whatever happened to that Google Maps Geography Game you synthesized a while back?
I thought it was at least as fascinating as Sudoku or Crossword Puzzles . . .
(no kidding . . . it was really good.)

I made a few of them and saved them somewhere. I'll see if I can find them and post another one.

Thanks!! I know that it is difficult to tell when I'm serious, yet that game was seriously good.
(it reminded a bit of an online game, from several years ago, called [Qywizzle] (or some spelling close to that) that was from Holland. It involved a hundred or so, nearly impossible to answer, questions that involved "Lateral Thinking" . . .)

(p.s./fwiw): I liked your world geography game way better than the "Let's Redo The OKC Bus Routes" Game. You'd probably have to get permission from Google and the "Where's Waldo" and the "Carmen Sandiego" folks to market it, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good idea. The World Geography Game . . . not the OKC Bus Routes thing.)

Is anyone else having the problem where the new Google Maps just freezes the computer? I mean it literally stops every computer I've tried it on dead in its tracks.
