Thread: Starbase Studio is looking for Star Trek fans.

Default Starbase Studio is looking for Star Trek fans.

    Starbase Studios Website

Starbase Studios is a new, Okc based, independent film studio for Star Trek TOS fan made productions. The studio has completed it's first major set, a full Constitution Class Starship Bridge, several more sets are scheduled to be built.

Starbase Studios is one of only three TOS film sets in the U.S. There are two productions already scheduled to film at the studio and several others expressing interest, some from as far away as California.

The studio also plans to develop educational activities, designed to promote interest in science and technology, open to any school or youth organizations.

Starbase Studios is built by fans for fans. We do it for the love of Star Trek and the desire to watch as much of it as humanly possible. But mostly, we do it because it's fun. See the website for a complete list of teams needing volunteers.

    Starbase Studios volunteer page.

Be sure to watch the "23rd Century Volunteer Recruitment Video".

    And visit us on Facebook.

Joins us to meet other Star Trek fans from across the country and help produce more Star Trek shows.

Any questions, comments, suggestions? Please post them. Thanks.

If they need a fat grumpy bald redneck Klingon I might look into it.

Pretty cool. Let me know if you guys do a Voyager reproduction.

A fat grumpy bald redneck Klingon? You never know, that just may be what one of the productions is looking for.

Voyager? Sorry but we only have TOS. Reproducing the Voyager sets would be incredibly hard. The bridge is non specific as to the type and name of the ship. You could get a 23rd century ship lost somewhere.

Thanks for the comments. Even you diggyba.

I'm down to be a fat grumpy Klingon!

I'm no Trekkie and have no uniform though.

Mebbe I'll just be a REALLY big tribble.

Where did you guys get your bridge plans? Can someone arrange to come in and look at the sets? Looks like a fun project...

If this has something to do with "Cosplay" I wonder where a person could rent a Horta costume . . .
(i'm old. i don't even really know what "Cosplay" is. not sure that i want to. =)

    Edited to Add:
Apparently, this is where the elite meet to fulfill their "dress-up fantasies" that they were apparently deprived of by helicopter moms etc. (but only the Star Trek fantasies).

But seriously: Cool studio. I wish something like that had been around when I was a kid (like in my late teens and early twenties).

@SoonerDave, I never knew it until I joined this project but you can find plans for pretty much anything on the internet. In our case a guy named McMasters drew up blueprints back in the 70's.

@RadicalModerate, I've seen that cosplay sight before but it's seriously expensive for a all volunteer project. Each production will likely have it's own costume designer. That's the way it's been so far. Let me point out that we're not some super slick, mind blowing studio. We're a bunch of guys that thought this project would be fun... and it has been... no really. Anyway I'm sure we could arrange a tour some time.

    Edit:
Speaking of each production has it's own costume designer.
