Default Texas Rangers file for bankruptcy

Wow! Great team, great facility but they still can't break even. Seems A-Rod's the #1 creditor!

Tom Hicks is an idiot and will not be missed as a team owner here in the Metroplex.

this is just standard proof that baseball simply has never been a big hit in the midwest at all. leave baseball to those folks back on the east coast. out here football ranks supreme.

thats the gateway to the west, barely over the line of being in the "midwest". besides, st louis likes football enough to steal one of l.a.'s teams.

Will the Redhawks be affected by this at all?

especially since DFW isn't in the "Midwest".

It appears that a group headed by Nolan Ryan has bought the Texas Rangers organization. That being the case, look for the Rangers to leave OKC as their AAA parent and go to Red Rock (Austin). My money is on the Astros simply pulling the switch and moving their Red Rock AAA team to OKC. Unfortunately, the Rangers minor league system appears to be in a lot better shape, talentwise, than the Astros.

Got a map? Try the Southwest.

Midwest is OH, IN, IL, IA, etc. Not technically accurate according to a map of the lower 48, but traditional. Some also consider WI, MI, MN as Midwest.

OK, KS, NE, SD, ND are the Central Plains.

The Rangers minor league system has been ranked as one of the best for many, many years, they have many players from their system playing all over majors for other teams.

Hicks has been the problem up there for many years, the A-Rod signing was an ego thing for him and thinking that he could out-Yankee the Yankees. The team was actually doing pretty well at steadily improving with the home grown talent until they signed A-Rod.

Wrong again. Oklahoma is not in the Central Plains, it is in the Southern plains and is classified as a South Central State. Anyway, "no big deal "but your map is not accurate at all!

It is designated differently from one map to another depending on the function of the map.
