I have not seen anything. In a recent announcement of 24 new locations, Tulsa wasn't mentioned. Have you heard something?
I read this title... then it said Tulsa. Sad day.
I believe they are also looking in Edmond and Moore/Norman, but don't have particulars as of yet.
Apparently there is an effort to get a location in Jenks.
Some local business/real estate owners who run the "Ten District" are behind that. They said on a facebook post that they are trying to acquire properties in the downtown for a potential site to propose to TJ corporate.

I have the plans and it's not Jenks.
Looks like when I post the info I have it will be the first anyone has heard of it.
Ooh exciting. I thought Jenks downtown would be a tough sell to TJ since its a little tough to get to and not central enough. The incomes are there though.
My other uninformed guesses would be Broken Arrow or the Bixby/Tulsa area. Im excited to hear more when you can share.
It seems like TJs like centrally located, older strip malls with small parking lots. The Norman Sprouts is exactly like that. I'm not sure I've seen one in a brand new building
Not the Utica Square development right? That one was being pitched as a new to market upscale grocer. I didn’t get the name though.
Hadn't thought of that location mainly because it has been in use ever since I started coming to Norman regularly. I like it better than the vacant Sears in the mall.
Maybe go for Whole Food in the mall??? I actually don't think this is likely. Most probable location would be UNP if I had to guess.
I do hope the OKC area gets a second of both TJ and WF. They have to be one of the largest metros with only 1. If one wanted to build in Moore or Norman, closer to me, I'd be even more appreciative. Lol
Can someone just explain to me how Tulsa would get a second Trader Joe’s before Oklahoma City? I mean, I don’t have anything against Tulsa, but that just seems bizarre to me. Is that town really that much richer than Oklahoma Oklahoma City?
No, I don't think so, just denser, Tulsa is almost twice as dense as OKC City Limits proper. The "problem" is that with a second location of any retailer, you have to be very strategic with placement in OKC, as you are probably always going to exclude 30 to 40% of the city population due to distance. If TJ's goes to Norman, it's not likely going to pull a large number from Edmond or Yukon or vice versa.
Moore quickly became the "middle" ground for south OKC and Norman shoppers, like Memorial Road pulls in NWOKC and Edmond.

We live in NWOKC, it's rare we travel all the way out to west OKC for the Outlet Shops, and while we have Costco at Western near by, we never purposely drove out to the one in Moore before the north OKC location opened.
OKC has actually higher income than Tulsa according to this: https://www.bestplaces.net/compare-c...ity_ok/economy
For our friends in Tulsa, Trader Joe’s is planning a second area location.
Plans have been filed for a TJ’s at 1525 E. Hillside in Broken Arrow.
The store will be free-standing near Broken Arrow Expressway and S. 177th E. Avenue adjacent to Target.
As for the OKC area, TJ’s has been scouting locations in the Edmond and Moore/Norman areas.
New construction in a power center makes a location in university town center more likely.
They seem to be increasingly building free-standing locations.
For a long time, their business model was to take over vacant grocery stores in closer-in locations, as there are tons of old spaces that fit their business model but are now too small for traditional grocers.
