Thread: Bank outside Riverwind

  1. #1

    Default Bank outside Riverwind

Anyone know why the bank in front of Riverwind casino was moved? I live out of state and noticed on trip home. Any future casino expansion? How about possible resort type stuff?

A real resort type setup would be nice, but I doubt they want to get too crazy and risk pulling from Winstar.

Casino actually can't expand much beyond its current footprint.

where do you get that idea??? absolutely they can expand... just have to tear out and remodel some and take up more of their parking lot... perhaps take in more of the parking lot to the south, rip out the willow and build a new buffet location in the expansion... and still keep the current entrance, just shift the traffic from drop offs to the west side of the hotel.

The bounds of their trust land will keep gaming largely limited to the current footprint. ...You can't just put an Indian casino wherever you want.

what i was thinking as well... Yes i understand that they have some hurdles to get through to expand the size of the trust land if they wish to do that (but they can do it... it is not impossible)... but i would have thought that the whole site would have been part of the trust land, and not just the immediate area where the casino itself was built.... otherwise, how has lucky star and winstar been able to build new additions so easily? and even the addition of new cheaply done buildings at Newcastle and Lucky Star Clinton

The trust land parcel at Riverwind is small. You would have to contact the BIA's Office of Trust Services, Division of Land Titles and Records to find out about the other casinos. Land qualifying for gaming is outlined by IGRA (Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988).
