Watched ER religiously (Guess I can use that word) while most of the original cast were on...Slowly stopped after the Revenge of the Nerd guy died

Can tell I'm not so good with names

Think we just flat out substituted House for ER

  5. Default Re: New Fall Schedules

House is well written, but I don't like villan/killer/medical mystery of the week-type shows.

Have to admit I tune out most of the illness story in each episode..Watch it mainly because I enjoy being an ass from time to time and House is my inspiration

ER used to be really good, but it has degenerated into a silly soap opera. I can't stand it, but my wife likes it, so I have to put up with it. Maybe it's my price for watching football.

Crossing Jordan was actually pretty decent, but the idiots at NBC couldn't give it a regular timeslot and my wife and I finally gave up trying to keep track of it. I never have understood why networks do that. To think, however, that CJ (which was pretty good) gets cancelled in favor of a resurrection of "Bionic Woman" escapes me.

Geez, looking at the broader list, NBC's schedule sucks rocks...

"The Office" and the occasional "My Name Is Earl" is all I've ever watched from that list. I'm curious about Bionic Woman for nostalgic reasons. Nanananana...nanananana

    Heroes is it for me.

I will check out the Bionic Woman since I believe the same guy that did Heroes is producing it.

I hope Lipstick Jungle is better than the book.

Now I know why I watch very little TV, especially NBC......there is nothing good on...although I will watch Sunday Night Football. I'll have to see what CBS and ABC have to offer. Thank goodness for Ch 25, 34, 43, and 52 (KSBI).

For the record, Criminal Intent was renewed but is moving to the USA Network. I lost interest in the show whe nthey went to the "alternate crimefighters" format. I'll miss Crossing Jordan but the show did have a great run. I'm midly curious about the Bionic Woman because it going to be a "re-interpretation".

Just realized there was no mention of "The Apprentice..." Although I kinda liked the show, it had lost its steam...not explicitly listed as "cancelled," but not on the list as a replacement, either....figure with the possibility of a writer's strike looming, Apprentice would be a cheap fill-in..

  14. Default Re: New Fall Schedules

Yeah, I mentioned that about Criminal Intent.

Apprentice is not for sure cancelled, but it's in limbo and its future is going to be discussed in the coming months.

NBC has previews for all the new shows on their website.

Yeah, saw a blurb that NBC hasn't actually "yanked" Apprentice. They're holding out for strategic opportunities to "counterprogram" other reality shows, probably.

CBS has been hedging its bets about another installment of Amazing Race, and I wonder if they're trying to play chess with NBC over Apprentice as they both run on Sunday nights....

The only shows left I watch are 24 and NCIS. Everything else I watch on DVD so I don't have to wait week by week and can remember everything that happens and also I don't have to worry about recording, times, and whatnot. It's very convenient to just have them delivered to my little mailbox.

Amazing Race and How I Met Your Mother is it for me. CBS is so far from anything I like to watch.

    Default Re: New Fall Schedules

Yup, CBS could fold up shop as far as I'm concerned -- EXCEPT for Amazing Race!!!

Actually, the reason Amazing Race isn't on the fall schedule is that it's host - Phil Keogan - is taping a special series of his own over the summer in Canada. I believe taping for Amazing Race 12 won't even start until late next month, which means it almost certainly couldn't be ready for a regular fall start.

Y'know, I guess I just blame it on moving out of the "desirable" demographic, but (excepting some sports) *none* of the three networks really puts on anything I like. I admit I'm not very trendy; as noted, I do really like Amazing Race, but most of the other stuff is too dark, too violent, or, frankly, trashy for me to get very interested in...

The overwhelming majority of stuff we watch is from the specialty cable networks, like A&E, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, or Discovery, maybe Hallmark...
