Let's see. They rearranged the location of the pictures and info. Also changed the state seal to an American flag. Whoopee!

Maybe there is an anti-aging photo-shop chip behind the picture.

The last thing anyone in the military wants is for special treatment and not be held accountable for their actions.
the veteran flag will be optional .....

can't speak for all vets .. but i would be more than happy to not get speeding ticket if the officer didn't want to give me one because i am a veteran and i would guess that most feel the same way

Nevermind the aesthetics of the new license--this is what I'm excited about:

“They totally redesigned the system to where it's going to be faster for the operator, which will speed up the line of people waiting at the tag agencies and exam offices.”
Good thing my license expired like a year ago--now I won't have to wait as long at the DMV whenever I eventually get around to renewing it.

As BoulderSooner pointed out it will be optional, from the article
The new card also will allow Oklahoma veterans to identify themselves as such with a special insignia. That option will be available beginning Nov. 1.

This ^. I didn't serve 6 years so I could get out of speeding tickets. I sure as hell don't want other bad drivers getting out of their tickets. Just wait until some DUI clown with a Veteran sticker kills someone and then we find out they were pulled over a couple of times and not ticketed. I served 6 years and got paid for it. The government doesn't owe me anything else.

Anyone know what Starship Troopers was really about?

The state should stop issuing the "drivers license" all together all it does is promote driving. Oklahoma needs more pedestrians, cyclists, and more people using mass transit..... This is my Just the Facts impersonation attempt. j/k

They don't mention the gps tracking chips in the new liscense I see. Robert Heinlein was a socialist, and a bit of a perv in his latter adult scifi novels.

One of my favorite BOOKS. There are some days I wish we would adopt the basic premise....

The new license reminds me somewhat of a MySpace page circa 2006...

Shown is the Veteran logo. The Osage shield will be in it's place for the rest of us.

It is optional. The only way a tag agent or DL Examiner will know that you are a Vet will be if you tell them.

Why can't they get rid of tha honky looking "Oklahoma" in script and replace it with how it is on our license plates.

I agree. I also hate firefighter tags and police tags on licesnces plates. It really just shows how corrupt our country is becoming when those who we pay to enforce our laws are identifying themselves outside of their duty hours as being above it.

I recall a few years back the Legislature was requiring/talking about "digital fingerprint" technology being built into the drivers licenses...this was ahead of federal regulations after 9-11 etc. Don't know what happened, if it was ever implemented etc???

I think I had to have one for my Colorado license (this year), my previous Texas license did not have the requirement. I had the old, pre-magnetic strip Oklahoma license before moving to Texas in 2003.

When you do it it will take drastically less time if you go to a location that does not offer drivers tests, the one like two miles away from my house you literally have to be in line by the time it opens to get served by the time it closes. The location at MLK and 36th may be your best option.
