Seeing UL ranked #8 just makes me think - What it?

Not saying they would get the same level of success in the Big 12 as they have had in the Big East/AAC, but it seems we got the short end of the stick with WVU. Granted the Big 12 could be with 11 teams right now (Big Ten did it for years) and be just fine...but...anyway.

  4. Default Re: College Football - Week 2

We should have taken both Louisville and Cincinnati at the same time. Nothing wrong with being the Big 12 again, and Cincy is also a great school. The entire conference would have gotten a massive upgrade..

Have you seen their campus?? It's amazing, they could expand or build a better stadium.

Agree completely. They being close to the rest of the conference would have helped too. WVU is just on an island out in the middle of no where. The ACC and SEC didn't want them. We took them and I have a feeling the conference regrets it.

    Which conference?

I don't think WVU was a bad get. It is by itself but if we took in the best schools in the Ohio River area I think, combined with the original core of Texoma (which we strengthened), you've got a strong and competitive conference. More so than what we have right now.

We could've had a secondary core that isn't necessarily geographically contiguous, but the only major college programs in the way would be Arky, UK and Mizzou...and it's clearly no less sprawled than when we included Nebraska and Colorado.

I think if we could at least get Cincinatti before they get scooped up, it would help some. I've seen some suggest Northern Illinois on other sites to tap into the Chicago market, but they really don't bring much. Plus I can't see them leaving the MAC. If ever there was a stable conference it is that one (at least in terms of its core members).

I do not know, the Sooners 50-49 win over West Virginia last year was a nailbiter and a great game, if there is great games like this in the future, the conference might not regret it

However I do know that the Big 12 conference regrets letting Nebraska go, that was a big mistake and I miss the great Cornhuskers-Sooners rivarly!

So I don't think Knight or Bell are horrible, but the play calling didn't seem to be on tonight. Knight definitely got spooked and was acting like a freshman. His biggest fault that I could find is leading with his eyes too much.

However, when the run was doing well they would try to throw and it just didn't make sense...at that time. Yes you want to be balanced, but if the other team is already scattered you don't stop what is working for that drive.

So is the problem Heupel then?

Glad they have time to get ready for South Bend.

Odds Bell is starting against Tulsa?

OU is way, way better on defense.

Offense is good enough and will improve throughout the year.

AND the schedule isn't that tough.

Seeing them behind is glorious but I kinda want them to pull through. It would make for an impressive win if we beat them at the RRR.

IF they come to Big 12 they would upgrade stadium to at least 65000. Also more money for Big 12 if they could of pick up Louisville and Cinny. Two good size TV markets.

You better hope they don't play any school in Top 10 in bowl game or u will see the same results they receive last year or in title game against USC.

Also Texas just got curbstomped American History X-style by BYU 41-20. In terms of rushing yards allowed, it was the worst showing by UT's defense in school history.

Given the fact that ND, UT, UFL, and SC all got beat by lower ranked team, OU's woes don't look so bad.

My question is, does Mack Brown make it through this season? Or this week?

Mack is there as long until Red McCombs and Joe Jamail decide to fire him....and buy out his contract.

A great DL with a Top tier DT and a great OL with the ability to run the ball when needed are what you need to win the National Championship. By no means am I saying that OU is going to even make the game, but if Phillips continues to prove he's the real deal and the rest of the DL shores up its consistency, and the OU run game is a threat to run for 200+ every game, then this team probably has the best chance since the '09 pre-Sam injury or '10 squad to be in the conversation come mid-November.
