4-Alarm fire at Econolodge

What a miserable day for firefighters to have to fight a 4-alarm fire. This was at the Econolodge off Meridian, just south of Reno.

Is that a hotel that you can rent nightly or do people live there? If so, that is really horrible - so sad to be homeless in weather like this.. I really, really hope that people have found shelter in temps like this..

I let my little guy go out today and he was in the wind for about 10 min and he was covered head to toe and had more layers than a cake, but the only thing not covered was the apples of his cheeks ... my husband was playing with them outside and brought him in and his cheeks were white! I though omG, frostbite.. it was only a few minutes but it was that cold! I put warm compresses on his face and made him hot chocolate and put him in front of the fireplace, and he was fine and wanted to go out again in about 2 seconds, but I couldn't help but think of those who didn't have shelter today.. brutal.

I think it is a motel that you rent nightly, but I am not for sure.

I was sure glad the kids were out of school today, and my wife didn't have to work. I went to work, of course. I left the house at 6:15 AM., and had no problem getting there. After work was a different story.


I was east bound on I-40, approaching I-44 southbound.

I understand that my dog did real well today. She stayed in the house most of the day, but she let my wife and kids know when she needed to go outside and take care of her business.

I can safely say that it was brutally cold today, mainly because of the wind. My pick-up is parked under the carport for the night, and I'll probably be up by 5 in the morning so that I can make sure I give myself enough time to get to work safely.





I really did pity those firefighters that were fighting the fire today in the snowstorm.
