Last MOORE WAR!

So, who is going to the last MOORE WAR? They expect 18,000 to show. I know I'll be one of them.

I've taught at Westmoore since it opened and been at EVERY Moore War. Westmoore won the first 6 times the two schools played. Then Moore won 10 in a row. Now Westmoore is on a 6 game win streak. That makes the series record, Westmoore 12-Moore 10. This will be the 20th year of existence for Westmoore. They have played 19 times in the regular season and 3 times in the playoffs.

My last Moore War was the first one in '88. I now have a son in 9th grade so I guess I'm going to the last one. Nice little closure there.

I bet that at least for a few more years the game between Moore and Westmoore will be hyped up at least by fans and students, if not officially by the school system or whatever.

My guess is it will still be just as big of a rivalry, there will just be three schools "out for 'blood'" from each other now.

I am pretty sure that Moore won from '94-'99 and maybe a year or two after that. Those were the years my brother and I went, and I don't think Moore ever lost when we went there.

I know Southmoore (aka Moore Last) is on the horizon, so I just figured they'd coin a new name for the two new games...

The Moore-Westmoore game will still occur every year, this is just called the last Moore War because it will no longer involved just the two teams.

During the TV broadcast, on KSBI, they also referred to it as the Moore City Championship. Perhaps that will be chosen phrase used starting next year?
