    Default Bank One Name Disappearing

As you may already know Bank One merged with Jp Morgan-Chase last year. According to an artlicle on newsok.com the Bank One name is changing to Chase.

By April 25, 2005 all Bank One property and the Bank One tower downtown will be re-branded with the Chase logo.

    This was to be expected.

i thought the bank one logo was kind of tacky on the building. i hope the chase logo is more subtle.

It was only a matter of time before this happened. Most people on here were already calling it the Chase Tower anyways.

Just got a new box of checks: they still have the Bank One logo, but underneath it reads "JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A."

Still got the same local routing code, though (which used to belong to the old Central National Bank, Bank One's first local acquisition).

It'll be kinda cool to have Chase on downtown's tallest tower.

James Cotter, the recent buyer of the tower, made the official
name of the building "Cotter Ranch Tower", complete
with his logo branded into the floor tile etc.....
Mr. Cotter is a very interesting character....he is from San Antonio.....
but is in OKC quite often....

I do agree that The Chase Logo will be a welcome change from
the Bank One Logo that isn't completely lit half the time anyways.....

maybe it's a bank one thing to not light your sign. in amarillo, our bank one building usually has the sign only half-lit as well. and the sign itself isn't nearly as huge as the one in oklahoma city. i guess it's all a thing of the past now anyway...

Not a BankOne thing, it's a money thing in general.....
cost lots of money to go over the wall of a skyscraper, open
those letters up and replace neon or fluorescent tubes.....
which is why most of these signs on really tall buildings are
going to light emitting diodes or "leds" for short......
an example of this is the new Valliance Bank signs on "The Tower"
on NW Expressway and Classen.....those green letters will always
be lit beautifully.....and in downtown OKC on the tallest building
I think Bank One should have been mindful of their position in
the community and thrown a few bucks the signage company's way......

Hmmm, I hadn't realized the building had been renamed this. I suppose most people will still call it Chase Tower anyways.

    Bank One name to vanish

Look for a change at the top of Oklahoma City's largest building.

The 36-story Bank One Center in downtown Oklahoma City displays a large Bank One sign on each of its four sides that soon will be removed and replaced with the Chase logo.

In fact, every Bank One sign in Oklahoma will disappear, with work beginning within a couple of weeks at the 35 state branches. The company hopes all of the branches will display the Chase brand on their signs, stationery and staff clothing when they open for business April 25, said Jim Young, president of Bank One's Oklahoma City market.

"We've already ordered our business cards and stationery," Young said Tuesday.

As the Bank One signs come down, the new signs will be covered with plastic sheeting, Bank One spokesman Chris Spencer said. The new signs will be unveiled April 23-24.

Bank One is the sixth-largest bank in Oklahoma based on deposits. Most of Bank One's branches, 23, are in the Oklahoma City area, where it is the second-largest banking operation based on more than $1.5 billion in deposits.

Bank One merged with JPMorgan Chase & Co. last year. Oklahoma will be the second state to the rename its Bank One branches, Spencer said.

It's confidential so you're telling it on an Internet board? It must not be that confidential. You do realize you're not talking to 2 or 3 of your life long friends here don't you?

Not like we didn't know they made money off that crap though. Personally, I thought they would make more than that.
