Wingers Restaurant & Alehouse expansion announced
    July 13, 2022
Salt Lake City —Having successfully built locations throughout the mountain west, Wingers Restaurant & Alehouse is coming to the Midwest. Samuel Larkpor, principal and manager of SRJ Capital, LLC, recently signed a three-store Development Agreement with Wingers Franchising, Inc., and is anticipating opening their first location in the middle of Oklahoma City in 2023.

The new restaurant will offer a wide variety of food and drinks, combining award-winning handmade wings, Sticky Fingers, burgers, salads, craft beers, and great service; Wingers Restaurant & Alehouse has perfected the art of giving guests the comfort of a family restaurant with the liveliness of a Sports Pub. Renowned for being a fun and energetic gathering place for friends and family, Wingers is an outstanding local spot to socialize, watch a sports game, eat some amazing American food and drink a cold beer.

“Wingers is very excited to be working with Sam Larkpor in bringing the Wingers Alehouse experience to Oklahoma,” says Eric Slaymaker, CEO & founder of Wingers USA, Inc. “Oklahoma will go crazy for Wingers’ Amazing food and high-energy atmosphere, and we are thrilled to be working with SRJ Capital and Sam in the Midwest.”

Samuel Larkpor and his family came to the United States from Liberia, West Africa, in 1994. Larkpor grew up on the north side of town and has been a real estate investor since his early 20s.

Larkpor is the founder of SRJ Capital, LLC., and is excited to bring something new to Oklahoma’s residents.

“My first experience with Wingers was in Boise, ID,” says Larkpor. “When I first tried the signature sauce on the wings, I fell in love with it. So, when I saw an ad that they were selling franchises, I contacted them to find out how I could own one and bring the concept to Oklahoma, it would be the perfect fit; there is nothing like it here.’

Two more locations are slated to open each year following in surrounding areas. These three Wingers Restaurants & Alehouse will be the first restaurants in the SRJ Capital, LLC portfolio.

“I always wanted to be in the hospitality industry, and I am excited that I get to bring something new to my city,” Larkpor says. “ The culture of Wingers really fits in our city, and I am excited to be part of a group that will bring something new for the residents to experience.”

Press release says July 2022 what’s that about? We’re they just waiting on Shiki to close?

A part of me feels this is a typo. Or the franchises were announced a year in advance, and waited for Shiki to close to put it out there (doesn't seem likely).

The external presence is horrible. I worked 100 paces from Shiki for over ten years and never had a colleague who had a business lunch there. The food may have been amazing, but it reminded me of an outdated Der Dutchman. I never like to see a tenured restaurant go under, but this establishment can use a total makeover. It's a prime location and it looks like the new proprietors are planning to make some renovations.

Looks like Wingers is close to opening in the old Shiki spot on N. May:

Anyone have a status update here? The external work appears to have been done for quite some time. Construction began nine months ago. Seems like a long time for a buildout. I'm wondering if there are perhaps staffing issues.

I drove by the other day and just assumed they were open because the exterior seems to have been done for a while.

I drive by several times weekly and there is no signs that they are close to opening. The Shiki sign is still up by the street and I haven't seen cars there in a long time.

I'm calling this the 'Hibachi' curse. Meiji has been structurally finished for several months also, but now moving at a snails pace.

Maybe the Meiji owners bought one of Shiki's old grills.

There is now a small, low-profile "Wingers" sign up on the lot (the tall Shiki sign is still there) and there is a banner saying "Opening Soon".

I'm sure they will. They are just working in a very methodical fashion.

    I'd go see him!

This video blew my mind. The guy is much more than a hair band rocker.

Yeah I watched that about a week ago. Interesting how he got into composing.
