Default Things To Do in Oklahoma City

What in your opinion are good date activities that are in the Oklahoma City area?

Try to be creative and mention the things that most people do not even think about doing.

Maybe it is somewhere you just visited or a place you used to go but just have not done it in awhile.

I know this city has more to offer than just dinner and movie, a Blazers, Redhawks or Hornets game.

You could always do a movie....nah, how about a dance class, painting ceramics, flying kites and picnic at Hefner, Remington casino, taking in a local band, a cooking class, Japanese restaurant where they cook the food at your table, rock climbing, roller skating, ice skating, hiking or biking around Lake Arcadia, chocolate fondue at your place.... wine tasting on and on...

My favorite thing to do? Laser Tag - you may laugh but that is the most fun exciting thing to do that is different and it is really unexpected - of course, you will get out of breath and hot but if this 'date' has any sense of adventure and is open to trying new things - why not?

You might want to save it for the second or third date and warn her to dress appropriately - jeans and closed toe shoes.. and I always wear black so I can't be seen so easily!

Where is the laser tag place located?

  4. Default Re: Things To Do in Oklahoma City

I have gone to the one near North Park Mall on May and 122nd? In that area, Pablanos would be a great start, Laser Tag and then onto the dollar movies in the mall ... a pretty fun cheap date!

There was one off West of I-35 and 12th in Moore - Lazer Quest ?

Laser tag.. such a great idea! I'm always game for the out-of-the-ordinary date, but I'm not too terribly creative! I love to ice skate/roller skate/rollerblade, so any "date" that inovled that would be fun for me! I'll see if I can think up any neat ideas that are off the wall...

Well, Karried pretty much covered everything I think is cool. But especially today, I longed to be out at Hefner Lake flying a kite and having a picnic. I almost drove off the Parkway today staring at the kites and the parasailing.

Ooh! Another favorite...going to a really good arcade with a few rolls of quarters. Is there Dave & Buster's here in OKC metro area? Perhaps the best choice would be the "Amazing Pizza" place since I think they have go-karts. Ooh! And go-karts too! Whee! I need a date!!!!

I have to agree with Karrie on the lazer tag. Our youth group from church has gone and played lazer tag many times, and of course, I have to go as a sponsor. The darker the clothes, the better off you are. It is so much fun, that I have come out of the game soaking wet with sweat. It would be the perfect 2nd or 3rd date. Wear plenty of deoderant.

Go Karts? Now, you are talking my language. Get me on a go kart and I am like a kid again. Speed......give me speed.

Roller skating or biking on the Hefner Lake trails would make a great date as long as you and your date are athletic. Then, a picnic lunch afterwards, followed by a romantic evening by the shore under the starry skies. Ok, sweetdaisy, if I wasn't married......................................

But, since I am married, here is how my date would go. We would dress casual (nice jeans, nice shirt, etc.....her, nice blouse, nice jeans or pants.) We would go out to a good movie, get a large popcorn and two large drinks, and snuggle while we watch the movie. During the movie, we would get a little smooching in, and I would hold her tight.

After the movie, We would walk out to the car, and I would open the door for her. We would head back to the house, light two candles, turn out the lights, and turn on some soft music. No TV, no cell phones....just the two of us. We would sit there, look in each others' eyes, and talk about our interests and our feelings towards each other. Then we would make out like we were teenagers again. Back then, we called it "suck face."

In my opinion, you are never too old for a date like this.

O.K... since I'm sitting here all alone at 10 o'clock on a Saturday.. here are some the ideas that I came up with (stole from other people)... haha!

Stroll/picnic at the myriad gardens (it's all lit up at Christmastime, too!).
Go to the zoo.. a blast at anytime, especially when it's 110 degrees (great way to see how good of a sport your date is.. and guys if she's wearing a white t-shirt.. haha!)
Go to a flea market and see who can buy the most stuff for a set amount of money or see who can come up with the most creative gift for the other person (probably not a first date idea).
Go watch little league anything.. baseball, soccer, etc!
Leadership Square (if it still exits) or the science-y place by the zoo (can't remember it's name)
Art museum.. it's always to pretend you're a world renound art critic!

Alrighty.. I was bored! The game's over and the pokes lost.. boo! So, I'm consoling myself with Coke and pretzels and OKCTalk!

    !
That's the Omniplex. You should see one of their movies in that domed theater. They're usually only 30 minutes or so....not too long to spoil a date for lack of conversation.

I am very happy to be sitting out here on a Saturday Night in this computer room/office/library that I spent near three years of my spare/leisure time building and now looking out the end of this room at the garage I am building to replace the three-bay carport that I turned into this room.

Now, there is a novel idea: stay at home and do something constructive that you can enjoy for a long long time hopefully, and that is assuming the Oklahoma tornadoes or such nor the wildfires take it away from you.

But that is just me; I love to design and build. This three-story garage is about to get to me tho; I am scared to death of high places, and this project has pushed me wayyyyyyyyyyy past my distance from the ground that I can adequately perform.

    Have a great day

There is alot to be said for sitting at home enjoying the results of a major home improvement project, especially if you did most of, if not all of the work yourself. On the flip side of that if your single and looking you aint gonna find it at home alone. Oki-Man, I can appreciate the fact you love to design and build. I did a major kitchen remodel last year, and it pretty much took me the whole year to complete it, but man is it nice now. The garage will be the next big project should I stay here another year the old one will come down and a new one will take it's place.

Pete, while I like your ideas of the home improvement scenario, I think that would be a little inappropriate for a first or second date. While I enjoy a good H.I. project, I would be offended if a guy were to invite me over to do some drywalling for the second date. But of course, I'm kinda high-maintenance like that.

sweetdaisy! LOL - you have such a delightful sense of humor - come on now.. home improvements are a step up from Walmart shopping! Get out your putty knife and be a sport - Drywalling can be very therapeutic! LOL!!!!!!! You crack me up, we need to hook you up with someone who will appreciate you.

Wait a minute, Daisy! You mean drywalling is not a good idea for a date?!

Man.. I really have some walls that could stand a shiny new coat of paint.. but so much for incorporating it into a date scenario... what a buzz kill!!! haha! I agree that SwtDsy needs an appreciative guy!!

Hey, just get yourself a good box of cheap wine and a gallon of paint...you buy it and they will come. I for one would love to help a girl out like that, painting can be very euphoric :boff:

  22. Default Re: Things To Do in Oklahoma City

I've just been inspired... let's have a meet and greet at my house,

I'll provide the box wine and paint and you all bring the paintbrushes and taping mud... I need a few rooms built and painted...

Hey...I mean lets take it slow here Karrie. No sense in jumping into things too quickly

In all seriousness here, if I met a girl, say for instance she worked at someplace that I frequented and she asked me if I'd like to come over to help her paint and have some wine and a pizza delivered I'd be happy, it could turn out to be a fun first date, and almost better than sitting in a loud, smokey bar trying to carry on a conversation. But then again I am simple.

  25. Default Re: Things To Do in Oklahoma City

I'd like to think that any girl in her "right" mind would NEVER invite a stranger to her home for a first date. I don't care how badly she needs her walls painted.

That's what girl's nite is for...PAINT PARTY! Hmmm...now that I think of it, osupa & kellekokid, you interested in doing a little paintint?
