Thread: NW Expressway& Wilshire/Brookside

    Default NW Expressway& Wilshire/Brookside

here's an undeveloped piece of land on the SW corner of NW Expressway and Wilshire that has been on the market for at least 20 years. A few weeks ago, the seller (Duer Realtors) put up a sign saying the property had sold, and then a couple of weeks ago, contractors started moving dirt. Looks like drainage work at the moment.

This is a small, odd-shaped parcel of land (shaped kind of like a grand piano). Anyone know what's going in this spot?

It's going to be an On Cue.

$3.8 million building permit issued in April.

I wondered. As I said, that's a pretty small parcel of land, smaller than the typical OnCue properties I've seen.

It's 2.5 acres, about the same size as their Memorial location.

I think that piece of property is bigger than it may look.

Glad OnCue is going in there. Was told that about 4 months ago. What I am now wondering is what is going in where the Charcoal Oven was?

Did Charcoal Oven on NW Expressway just east of May close?

    Is there construction happening there?

Yep it closed some time back. The last time I drove by the building was gone and dirt work had begun.

Pete, I believe he's referring to the Charcoal Oven west of MacArthur, north side of NW Expressway. The original CO, east of May, is still in operation.

That is correct. The one that was west of MacArthur, next to Charleston's On the north side. It closed a few years ago. They recently tore down the building and are now doing dirt work. There is a sign for a construction company on the lot, but nothing about what is going in there.

That NWEx / McArthur location was sold to a group out of Tulsa last year but I haven't been able to find any building permit.

It's less than an acre, so can't be anything too ambitious.

No, it was the other one, on NW Expressway just west of MacArthur, next door to Charleston's. It closed quite some time back but the building stood until this month. The one between May and Villa is still open.
