Here's a link to their FB. It looks like a fun community:

Great news! They are open 24/7 at their northside location... Wonder if they'll do the same here?

Looks like a great local operation on N. May and we need more recreation and service options in this area.

Will it only be in the section next to Schlegals or will it be in the tan and red brick building as well?
I believe it will take both those bays, the former location of Pinpoint Monograms.
There are a couple of apartments on the second floor.
Four Star is close to opening and according to their FB page, will be open 24/7 -- never closes:

Nice! True 24/7! Gyms have a hard time with that in OKC.
The Four Star location on N. May is 24/7 and they've obviously done well enough there to bring the same concept to AA.
They seem to work very hard at building relationships with their members, which is very different than chains. And it seems to work for them.
We have a huge problem with that up here too (only 24 hour fitness locations are); I wish we had more 24/7 gyms as the 'off-time' is great for those of us who are expert and don't need a trainer.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
I like the steam room, dry sauna, pool, and hot tub at golds memorial. Weight machines will be the same just about anywhere you go.
This location will be 24/7. They're saying about 2 weeks for an opening date.
My wife and I are dumping our Y memberships and re-joining 4-Star. We never would have left but we moved out of state. We moved back around a year ago into Heritage Hills and have been desperate for a real 24 hour gym to open downtown (no offense to the Y, but it's getting way to crowded, and the weekend hours are bad, not open until 730am on Saturday???).
This 4-Star location is going to have everything that the NW location has (free tanning w/ membership, Cardio-Cinema, 24/7, etc...). We're really looking forward to it opening.
This location makes the most sense for me. It is literally 2 blocks south of my office and three blocks from my loft. I lift and appreciate tons of machines. But I must confess that the salt water pool and sauna are a big reason I'll probably still go to Gold's. The problem in this town is that a true full service gym, with the pool, sauna, steam and other stuff doesn't exist anywhere in the central part of OKC. Makes you wonder, if the T is getting that crowded, might it be a candidate to go to 24hr? Particularly considering all the new apts about to come online.
Isn't the downtown Y a full-service gym?
I'm curious as to why all of those machines face AWAY from the front window..? I guess maybe for TV watching, but I would think those great windows and that street view would be an asset. Speaking of assets, I would think some members might be uncomfortable displaying theirs in the front window while on those ellipticals.
In Santa Monica CA there is a gymnosperm on the 4th floor of a building overlooking the promenade (busy retail district) where the gym members are virtually on display. Very cool.
Hi Urbanized, just reading this thread and wanted to answer that question. The reasoning behind facing away from windows is for security. With after hours keycard access, it's inevitable that here and there someone is going to forget their keycard or else just want to come in and check the place out. If a person is on a machine facing the window, then people will tap on the windows and try to get them to let them in. When you are facing away from the window you don't tend to notice it or can ignore it much more easily. If it wasn't for that we would've much rather faced everything towards the street.
Anyone who would like to come see the place, please feel free. I'd be happy to post pictures on here as well if anyone wants to see how everything turned out.
Btw I've been a lurker on here for probably a year but never posted. You have a great community and I love all the good info.
Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense.
They just posted this photo of their sign... More neon for AA!
