Thread: The Char-Broiler On NW Expressway

Default The Char-Broiler On NW Expressway

I'm planning, (hoping!) to return to my hometown, OKLAHOMA CITY!, sometime this summer. The Good Lord willin' and the crik run dry.
I was wondering if the old Char-Broiler drive in on the NW Expressway at May Avenue was still around/ They used to have the best burgers in town!

So much has changed since I moved away in 1992, that I am sure that many of the places I used to frequent are long gone. I hear that Shepard Mall isn't a mall any more, the old Sears is gone, that Crossraods is in receivership, and a whole lot of other stuff.

What's out where the old Belle Isle power plant used to be?
I know, I know. Too many questions for my first post.
    >CRINGES< Don't beat me any more! I'll be good! I promise!

I have to admit that I am terribly homesick for my home town, changed or not. After spending the last 17 years in Tulsa, Claremore, and Pryor, I'm definitely ready to come home. There be strange folk in this neck o' the woods hereabouts.
I'm afraid that I might become one of them.

    Anywhoo, hello to all.

The burgers are not what they used be unless you really like garlic. The last time I ate their It tasted like I was eating raw garlic.

You'll miss Belle Isle if you have a fondess for tall grass, weeds, trash and graffiti covered brick.
I'm not a fan of cookie cutter strip malls and/or Wally World, it's better then the old power plant setting and neglected for years and years.
