This was brought up in the thread about the Moore store....But.

They have started the dirt work to the north of Super Target at Penn and Memorial. Could this be the location of the Dicks Sporting Goods store? In the plans someone posted it showed they would be the anchor of a small retail center next to Target.

That is correct. I believe that they are building a 59000sf store there.

There was a big building permit for this a couple of weeks ago and I wrote the developer for details/renderings and never heard back.

The permit was just for the shell; tenant build out won't come until later so it's always hard to confirm these things.


The permit was for 59,487 square feet and the architect that filed it lists Dick's as one of their clients.

I noticed they finally put up a coming soon sign in front of the work area on the Penn and Memorial store site.

They just poured a slab for a Dicks on Reno between MacArthur and Rockwell...and a sign has been up for months!...Has not been announced???..LOL

Ya I thought the same, the writer didnt seem to know much about this. They even have a sign saying Dicks coming soon.

They probably got their information from Dick’s corporate. I talked with them 3 months ago and they were very adamant that this be kept under wraps. I have no idea as t why such a big secret there.

Last I saw on the Reno store the walls were going up.

The North Penn store is also going up. Looks like its tilted on the lot facing the corner instead of facing Penn.

Chickfila is already across street. I hope it's a Whataburger! Also Ive noticed that this looks to have two main big doors... Is there going to be a small retail space on the south end of this building as well?

Not sure which okc_bel_air is speaking of, but I went past the Dick's on Penn and there was a concrete slab in where I assume is the parking lot of Dick's.
