I just saw something pop up on my Facebook about Norman Regional Healthplex undergoing an expansion. There weren't any pictures of what it will look like. Does anyone have any pictures of this expansion?

seems like a pretty big expansion
Drove by earlier today, they are moving right along, and have multiple cranes on site. This is a massive project.
Just a couple of recent pics showing construction progress. One is of the parking garage and one of the actual hospital facilities addition. Quite a construction project, to say the least.

I’ve been following the live cams of this project at inspirehealthok.com and it’s been pretty impressive. Good to see Norman growing.
Well its going to get even bigger. They are adding a new cancer center:

Here come OU Medical Norman
I'm not a fan of them having obscured the hospital buildings from 75% of I-35 and most of Tecumseh with a giant parking garage. I'm a little shocked they have done this to be honest.
Remember, this is all to close the legacy Norman Regional location. So they, like any other hospital, have to abandon any masterplans and squeeze in what they can here. Honestly, I'm surprised they are building such small structures here. They're taking up valuable space that they may need in the future. They're just going to have to tear it down later to make room for the new "thing" in 10-15 years.
What I can say is that at least there's a design aesthetic being used consistently. That's always a peve of mine with hospitals. They dont want the new "thing" to look dated, so they do it all new and make it not match the old in any possible way, turning it into a architects collection of what not to do. So props here that they are at least being consistent.
The Porter campus is going to be largely behavioral health focused, but I think everything else is making the move to the new campus.
Another Adult Behavioral Health What we need is more options for Children and Adolescents along with adult units not just adult focused
at least it looks more pretty and modern than it used to
The End of a Era. the Healthplex Expansion will open on July 28th bringing with it the conversion of the old Norman Regional Hospital to the health village
Nope, they are going with the move
Norman Regional Health System will consolidate its two acute care campuses on July 28, 2024. Norman Regional Hospital, located at 901 N. Porter Ave. in Norman, OK will move acute care services such as the emergency department, intensive care unit, surgery services and inpatient care to the Norman Regional HealthPlex, located at 3300 HealthPlex Parkway in Norman. Due to this consolidation, both campuses will change names.
Sounds like an opportunity for OU Health to open a small hospital with an ER that serves the central and eastern parts of Norman.
