Default former Tower Records bldg. on NW 23rd

This one is for you Jack, who's says there is no "insider info" ever posted. Talked with a few insiders this weekend. As I mentioned a few months ago I noticed someone had bought Tower Records on 23rd. Well apparently one of the new buyers is the owner of MG Novelty and plans to turn it into a part restaurant, part music venue or art music house, similar to what was done at Will's on Western (the former Will Rogers Theatre). Watch soon for more details........

It's on NW 23rd near Walker. Between Paseo and Jefferson Park areas. It's not open as a tower records now. I think it was originally open to the Tower Theatre, then as a Tower Records, although I think they were independent and not affiliated with the Tower Records coporation

    Here's a press release:

It was the Tower Theater. Talented graphic designer/advertising guy Matt Goad and music/sound/promoter/ Scott Fife are also involved, they bought it last fall.

It's all becoming clear now. I am very happy about this project. It has a lot of potential.

    Dude,

Unfortunately we have never had a Tower Records store here. Would that it were true.

I like to hear about projects like this. The NW 23rd corridor is (in my opinion) the most interesting and urban-feeling area of OKC. Funky shops, ethnic restaurants, art galleries; it's far more interesting than Bricktown.
