Thread: Glass Repair

  1. Default Glass Repair

I picked up another big aquarium and there is about an inch of scratch on the outside. How can I repair a scratch on glass? All tanks have scratches, which is normal, but this one is a bit too much in viewing area. I read that toothpaste is all that is needed to repair, but I find that strange. So, how do I make it less visible?

    Default Re: Glass Repair

An alternative would be to disguise the scratch...find some decorative way to hide it. Working with glass is not easy for non-pros...can produce a danger of breakage for any load-bearing panel...which an aquarium is. A scratch in itself is dangerous, it is the way glass is weakened to provide a cracking point...
