    Large Chain Micro Center

I Know there isn't any Micro Center in the Oklahoma City Area. but i want to know, what are your thoughts if micro center came to the OKC Metro area. also where do you think it could be. The Dallas Location is 52,753.73 ft² (4,900.98 m²) while the Overland Park Location is 31,459.16 ft² (2,922.65 m²).

i mean, i just have a feeling it would either go in along Memorial or in Moore. since i live on the south side of the metro, i would prefer moore, of those two locals.

A perfect spot would be where the current Dick's Sporting Goods is in Memorial and Penn, once the new Dick's is opened and they move.

Everytime my family goes down to Dallas (which is more than ≈ 8 times a year) we go to the Micro Center on I-75. It used to be Fry's (RIP) but at least we still have Micro Center. They frequently have great deals on all kinds of things. It's how we bought our first 3D printer, and now we have 4, all from Micro Center.

But yeah, I would love to get one here. I'm holding out hope for one, one day.

I spent my teen years always going in and out of Microcenter there in north Dallas. Man I loved that place. Is it still there? I'd love to have one here somewhere on the north side of Memorial. Maybe somewhere on Memorial between Western and Santa Fe.

Having Texas Instruments so close to MicroCenter helps with the foot traffic. I doubt OKC would ever get one.

Yeah, It would likely go in the Old Dicks Building on Penn and Memorial or the old Hemispheres Building in Moore if they didnt want to build a new building

Sharonville OH, just outside of Cincinnati has one... OKC would provide at least the same foot traffic as them.

they have 26 stores nation wide, and not all are next to Texas Instruments locations, or other high end tech companies.

Micro Center is one of the only stores that I can walk in and it reminds me of growing up in the 90s. If you walk into a lot of big box stores these days, the aisles are relatively barren by comparison. Most of the CSRs are not very knowledgeable of their section anymore and are really just there to unlock things for you and upsell you on an extended warranty. Walking into a Micro Center is like a breath of fresh air. Everything from the general store layout to the individual sections are well setup and monitored by a CSR that knows what they are talking about. The floor salespeople in a Micro Center are actually someone you can bounce ideas off of instead of getting sloppily upsold on a $100 HDMI cable. I would love a Micro Center in OKC, I just do not think that we could support one. Austin and San Antonio don't have them. Thankfully, we have them in KC, Dallas, Houston, and Denver so if push comes to shove and you want to assemble hand pick a computer build that plane tickets really are a wash when you are already spending $5k+.

The old Hemispheres in Moore is still available

But no, i dont think that there will be enough draw. Just look at how Best Buy has changed over the last 20 years. So much of that traffic is online now. Unless you're making the big purchases, it's harder to keep the stores open. And there's pretty strong competition for those big items in OKC already.

Yeah, I think it is one of the signs of getting older. While I enjoy the convenience that having something like Prime Same/Next Day Delivery provides. Getting to actually walk through a retail store and compare apples to oranges is something I miss. Most of my expensive electronics purchases are from Micro Center road trips as a result.
