Southwest hardware was there down the street and yes I remember it but I also remember buying the last pile of junk they had there but, I can't remember the actual name. I can see the inside in my mind, there is a Bingo parlor or nightclub there now. I do remember the last manager was a very attractive lady.....

My friends and I used to wade in the ponds for golf balls. We also used to ice skate on those ponds when they were frozen enough.

When we were kids we took swimming lessons at woodson park. We all swam like fish but everynow and then you would need to fake a deep end drowning to get the pretty girl lifegaurd to jump in and save you.

Same here. For a while we lived in the 6300 block of Hillcrest Drive and our back yard emptied onto the golf course. Me and my brothers often hunted golf balls, cleaned them up and took them to the pro shop and they would buy them from us.

We also would skate on the icy ponds. I remember one guy was trying to ride his bicycle on one of the frozen ponds and the ice broke and he fell in. We laugh our butts off after getting him out.

Yeah!! And we 'golfers' needed those x-outs. It's an expensive game as it is. Some buddies and I decided to compete in strange way. We all bought a box of name brand balls. After 18 holes the person having the largest number of balls remaining was the winner.

I took the tires off the rims of my bicycle and road it on the frozen pond. It didn't work very well. I never broke thru the ice...or maybe I did, I can't remember.

    Hi everyone,
    I'm semi-back, it's a long story that I don't need to get into.

Prunette and I won't be at the Southside get together either. Not that
Prunette would be there but that's another story...

We have to go to Alaska and stay in a B&B for 8 days. Yes, it sounds
horrific. If only you all could go in our place. Oy, how we suffer.

I hope the usual suspects can attend.

That would have been Hillcrest Country Club, now Walnut Creek(?).

After school, I used to stop at the club house, get a burlap sack and pick
up the balls on the driving range. Buster paid about 12 cents a tray, I think
each tray held 25 balls. After we did that we'd go to the 7/11 on 59th.

No bear head, but we saw moose, grizzlies, caribou and mosquitoes. The
temperature was a sultry 60 most of the week and, to my enjoyment, it
rained everyday! Prunette wasn't to happy about that.

I got to fly a plane near the Eagle Glacier! That was exciting.

13 cents? Not if Buster has any say LOL!
