Santa Fe filed for Chapter 11. The one on Meridian, I-240, and Norman closed also. Hopefully, Outback or Texas Roadhouse will come to this building.

NASHVILLE, TN, Jul 16, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Santa Fe Holding Company (PINKSHEETS: SFHD) announced that it has voluntarily initiated proceedings under Chapter 11 in U.S. Bankruptcy court in Nashville, TN.

Santa Fe intends to use the reorganization process to strengthen its financial position which will improve operating and financial performance. Additionally, the Company will undertake further expense reduction plans to enhance productivity and provide marketing support to expand its loyal customer base.

While 16 new stores built over the last two years have flourished, several of the older units have under performed. Three of those units were closed on July 15.

According to CEO Danny York, "Santa Fe continues to be dedicated to giving customers the freshest food in a friendly atmosphere. The recent filing will allow us to reorganize our company and emerge stronger than ever."

Mr. York added, "Our business decision was made in the best interest of all of our dedicated employees and vendor partners who, like us, believe in the success of this concept. This decision not only protects the approximately 2,300 people we employ, but the hundreds of local businesses they support as consumers."

A DIP loan commitment has been secured and, subject to court approval, will provide funds for operating expenses. Craig Silvey, President of Integris Solutions, will play a key role in helping the Company during the restructuring process.

The company has filed "First Day" motions seeking Bankruptcy Court approval to conduct business as usual. The motions are intended to allow the Company to continue paying employees and vendors during the reorganization process.

Looks like a new Orange Tree Frozen Yogurt is going in the old Jimmy's Smokehouse spot and Chik Fil La looks like it's getting close to opening.
Lush Berry's sits straight south of the YNB branch.

Anyone been to Chick-fil-A yet? I haven't because of the crowds.

Yep... even with the crowds the service was excellent... hopefully this opening will be a catalyst for more dining options in the area.

    Mark,

Surely you're mistaken? Was it open or was it that there were cars because they were having an employee meeting inside? Chick-fil-A is ALWAYS closed on Sunday!

I too was at Target on Sunday Morning and sure enought the lights at Chik-Fil-A were on and there was someone inside. However When I drove by again I saw it was a cleaning crew. I am still under the impression that it HAS to be closed on Sunday. I am fairly sure its a part of the Franchise agreement.

Went there the other night. Was planning on going through the drive-thru, but line was long. I went inside and only had to wait about 30 seconds to order. Food was prepared quickly. I am happy that we have a chick-fil-a now.

The EXACT reason I refuse to use fast food drive thru's. Nearly all of them are slower than a snail overdosed on valum.

How many times have you witnessed a snail overdosed on Valium??? I have never myself experienced that sigt but I think it would be a bit boring. Did you call the animal welfare Officers?? Is there an epidemic of snail overdoses or snail suicide attempts I am not aware of??

I have a feeling it would take a snail a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time to OD on Valium.

Has anyone seen the town center shopping area in Midwest City? It looks so homey and easy to park and walk around to all of the shops! I wish the new developments in Yukon were more walkable and community oriented. Just a thought. Anyone else agree?

Anyone tried the new Papa Murphy's? It's not bad. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. It was our first time at a Papa Murphy's, and had no idea what to order.

We were thrilled to see the new Papa Murphy's in Yukon. We live in El Reno and the drive to Moore had to be planned around other things, just to pick up a great pizza. Try the Cowboy. For 8.99, pepperoni, sausage, oives, onions, green peppers. If I had dream money, I'd open a franchise in El Reno. They are very good to their people, have an excellent product and a great franchise plan.!

There is something definitely going on at the old Santa Fe place. There are about three giant trash dumpsters in the parking lot and construction traffic in and out the building. The Santa Fe sign is still up, i hope it stays up.

If there are three large dumpsters in the parking lot that suggest some significant interior demolition.....so it's probably not going to stay Santa Fe. I'd bet the first thing to come down soon will be the signs...

Is that a chain, or a local business?

...there was one in El Reno -- had a small windmill nearby. Year ago, dad and I would take breaks on our trek from Okmulgee to Elk City, we'd always stop at Hensley's for chocolate milk.
