At this point, I'd settle for actually seeing the sun for a day or two. I can't take much more of this dreariness.
The sun should return by Sunday. Saturday Afternoon if we’re lucky.
According to my Apple Watch, I’m averaging 3 minutes a day of sunlight.
I can't remember a more dreary extended stretch of weather.
We get cold and heat and everything in between, but it seems like it's been 10 days since we've seen the sun.
If the sun has come out at all since Sunday Morning, I must have missed it. So it’ll be about a week straight of clouds when all is said and done.
The worst winter I remember was 1977 or 78. It started with a heavy snowstorm on New Year's Eve. I couldn't get out of the driveway to go anywhere. From then on there was always snow on the ground to some extent clear to early March. It was because the weather usually stayed cloudy between cold fronts and snowstorms, so the snow never could fully get melted. There has never been a long winter like it since.
Was out in Okarche today and the sun came out when leaving. That was one of the biggest dopamine spikes I’ve had in my life.
The weather should be nice over 60 degrees all week so enjoy it while it lasts!
The Mesonet rainfall map shows my frustrations. Basically everywhere around OKC gets over an inch of rain, and SE OKC gets barely .5. It becomes frustrating to see. Looking forward to more cracks developing in the area like last summer.
Just heard winter storm next Sunday night.
Next weekend looks very rainy but I wouldn't expect there to be enough cold air for any winter precipitation.
The last GFS and CMC runs don't show anything wintery in central OK as far out as they go.
I"m not going to call out a station or weather person but it was on Friday evening's 10 o'clock weather cast. But they didn't mention the exact location but that they were tracking a "snow storm." I hate it when they do that. lol
The channel 4 TV weatherman said Sunday night that Oklahoma City and Stillwater both went 17 days in a row with the temperature staying below 50 degrees. Surely lots of other Oklahoma towns can say the same. I guess that is kind of unusual even for January. Worse unusual had it been for below 32 degrees. It looks like 60s for the rest of the week until weekend.
