I think it all depends on whether OU wins or loses this weekend...and I would slightly favor OU to win...so I guess Scenario A still feels more likely to me. It was fairly obvious that the team spent way too much time reading the headlines after the Texas win, so all we can hope for is that this loss forces them to refocus and recognize that all of their goals are still achievable. But make no mistake, if they keep playing like they've played the last two weeks, they will lose at least one and probably two more games and end up in the Alamo Bowl or the Pop Tarts Bowl.

thanks for this I only went to the OU rankings

so 3 times lower then 8th to start

    A is more likely

but neither is the most likely

No doubt. I was just using two extremes to compare for debate.

I can't argue against this logic at all. If the chances of hitting my bet hinges on who wins bedlam, I am choosing option A as well.

    so yeah
Ok. So the talking heads on ESPN radio didn't know what they were talking about. Not the first time.

Tough time to face OSU. I feel like they are one team that has really improved during the season this year. If we played them early on it would be a blow out. Now, I am not so sure.

I think so much of the game will depend on whether or not Gundy finally stops making overly conservative decisions when facing OU. It has cost him so many times over the years, but given that this is most likely the last Bedlam game that he'll ever coach in, maybe he'll finally take some chances. But given the history of the rivalry, it is tough for me not to favor OU to win yet another close one.

Same goes for BV/Lebby. Lebby needs to play to win instead of that no risk crap seen in the last two games.

Lebby was ****. His play calling was as bad as I’ve seen.

This is a good point. OU isn't playing well right now & I almost expected OSU to be favored since they're trending in opposite directions but given the history and Gundy's abysmal track record here you're exactly right. I expect them to pull out all the stops. This one should have all the fireworks because there are going to be some big plays on both sides. More than anything OU needs to get healthy and figure out their dang offensive identity. Play calling has been terrible & Tawee Walker needs to be the guy in the backfield.

Running the ball 2 more times then punting after being stuffed on 1st and 10 from their 40 with 2+ minutes left when Kansas still had two timeouts was so stupid. Especially with our best running back and best player on defense out. We were carving them up through the air…cannot believe they didn’t try to pass on second or third down. Hell, the way the punting game has been, they might as well have gone for it on 4th down.

Really need Walker, Stutsman and Gentry back for this one.

Yea that was maddening. We can't kick a FG or punt with any effectiveness so we just run it up the gut 3 times to take 10 sec off the clock to get a 20 yard punt lol. I mean just typing that out and reading it we got what we deserved.

Without them healthy it could be a rough afternoon.

Cale Gundy was on the Animal today. He cut them no slack about his opinion of the extremely conservative play calling. Way too much running up the middle and not enough passing, which is what OU is best at. He couldn't understand what they were thinking.

We need to give OSU something to remember us by. A good, old fashioned Sooner Magic beat down!!!!!
    BOOMER SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to OU? They look terrible since the win over Texas. Almost lost to UCF, lost to Kansas and now OSU. I want to believe in Venables but not encouraged by this team getting worse as the season continues. Can OU win any of their remaining games??

That no call on pass interference in the endzone directly affected the outcome of the game. I hate to be one to complain about officiating but that was as blatant and obvious as it gets and we likely score a TD after getting the ball near the goaline.

That said this team has some serious issues. The offense has really regressed and continues to make huge mistakes. I don't know if Lebby is just getting out coached by D coordinators or what but the play calling has been terrible. There were so many mistakes again by OU that we deserved to lose again even though we should have won. That may be a direct coaching problem unfortunately. This rebuild is unfortunately not ahead of schedule like we thought.

Edit: Stoops is actually going to catch that ball in bounds in the end zone if he's not tackled. He damn near caught it anyway.

No one has ever confused me with Brady Quinn, but I think OU has a Lebby problem above all else

I somewhat agree. But, as Al and Jim yelled at a couple callers postgame. Lebby didn't turn the ball over 3 times or drop an easy pass in the end zone. Or tackle Stoops in the end zone before the ball got there.

Exactly. It's not the no call that's so infuriating. It's the fact that it was a touchdown if not for Stoops being tackled before the ball got there. Even the ABC postgame show, which should be impartial, showed the no call play numerous times complaining about how the Field Judge 10 feet away could possibly have missed it.

We have a number of excellent commits coming in next year. The future is looking good even with two losses in a row putting a huge damper on this season.

We also don't have a reliable kicker, if we do we probably win both of these last 2 but unless it's a chip shot we a don't really have the option for 3. Very frustrating for sure especially when our Offense is playing not to lose instead of playing to win. There were multiple chances to take control of this game & the offense failed every time. Whether play calling or procedural issues like both snaps & fumbles it just can't happen.

  25. Default Re: University of Oklahoma Sports

I'm curious as to why Stoops didn't have a conniption regarding being blatantly tackled? One can fatalistically say he knew the non-call wouldn't be reversed but there has been more than one time a little field tantrum has encouraged a flag.
