The defense is solid, the best it has been in a decade or more it seems, but they’re not good enough to make up for the colorful ways the offense fails. This is the best KU team since I was in middle school and it looked like they were bound to win from the moment the game started, but if this OU team had even half the offense of really any OU team since the late 90’s, they probably hang 56+ today, and I don’t think it’s skill that is the issue at this point.

It is not very surprising, Sooners have regressed after the win against the Longhorns, Sooners should have lost to Central Florida last week too, I do not really have much faith in Sooners to win against Cowboys in Stillwater next week but we will see and at least Sooners lost to a good Jayhawks team, it would have been embarrassing to lose to a terrible Jayhawks team

Questionable offensive play calling, too conservative. Defense continues to get exposed with huge plays. Just too many mistakes. We're not there yet, maybe in a couple more.

Well put. Exactly on the money.

I'm not saying Oklahoma is out of it. Not at all. They do need to win out and they need a Florida St loss and I think they have a good case to make the final 4 cause of teams like SMU. That was a good win. SMU turned out good. In the end they probably will have more top 25 wins than FSU cause Duke losing hurts FSU. Clemson not being good hurts FSU. If Miami losses again that hurts FSU. That being said looking at FSU schedule do they lose to anyone left on their schedule? Louisville in the title game probably be their toughest test .

OU will have their hands full just to get to the Big 12 CCG. OSU and WVU are tough, at BYU isn’t easy. TCU at home should be a win.

With the loss, Sooners will probably be out of the top 10, maybe dropping to #12

I am glad Sooners are not playing Kansas State this year, Sooners always have trouble defeating Kansas State

K-State score is something like 83-3 the last 2 weeks.

They play Texas in Austin next weekend. Texas also has to go to Iowa St that is looking really good

I don’t think anyone realistically thought this OU team was going to go undefeated and make the CFP. Most thought they would lose to Texas which didn’t happen and likely 2-3 more losses. I thought Bedlam would be a loss and still think so. If OU makes it to the Big 12 CCG and thus still in the CFP mix in December that will be a major milestone for a program that was 6-7 the year earlier

    ^ Right on every point.
Though I'm hoping OU will play OSU with the intensity we played Texas with. In that case it would be an OU win. I haven't seen that intensity since Texas.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them take down Texas on Saturday. Fun Saturday of football on tap Nov 4 - Texas-K-State at 11, Bedlam at 2:30 and KU-Iowa St (their only conference loss is to OU) at 6. All are currently Big 12 contenders

First poll that matters comes out Tuesday

True. But today the coaches poll dropped OU to 11th. The first committee poll won't have them much different than that. And I'm pretty sure the committee has never had a final four playoff team start off below 7th in the first committee poll.

A lot of teams in front of them Still have to play one another So nothing wrong with being 10th. The ACC is eating themself. Miami should of loss and Duke is done. OU needs to win out and FSU to lose to anyone. Penn st lose to Mich OU now 9. Georgia/Bama Ou 8 Oregeon/Wash Ou now 7 Mich/Osu Ou now 6 beat Texas OU now 5th. Fsu loses OU could still end up 4. FSU loss or a couple losses of the pac 12 teams. But they need to win out

I wish you would make up your mind which side you're on. If anyone says anything pro OU being a playoff team you argue it. If anyone says anything anti OU being a playoff team you argue it. You're really confusing.

Lol, I was thinking the same when I read the last comment. Like the wind.

I have always thought it would come down to FSU with one loss and OU with one loss. OU losing to Kansas is not great but the ACC right now is killing FSU. North Carolina lost again. Clemson is trash. The don't play Louisville. until maybe title game. Duke is dropping hard Miami should of lost again. ACC might actually we worse than the Big 12. That being said FSU does have that win over LSU so you best all be cheering for Bama this weekend.

If it comes down to OU 1-loss champion and 1-loss Pac 12 champion and FSU is undefeated. OU being left out. OU need help either FSU loss or chaos in the pac 12.

OU was #15 in the first ranking and made the playoff .. in 2015 (rankings season playoff games in 2016)

and OU was #9 in the first rankings and made the playoff in the 2019 season

    so yeah

Ohio State won the national title in the first year of the playoff after being #16 in the first committee ranking. I personally don't think OU has a real shot to win a title this year, but I'd still put them at a better than 50% chance to make the playoff if they win out, which will be difficult but doable.

Out of the two options below:

A.) OU makes the CFB Playoff.
B.) OU fails to reach the Big 12 championship game.

Which scenario is more likely to happen in everyone's opinion? Which of these options would you be the most confident putting money on right now going in to week 10?
