I know you all hate this but BOTTOM LINE there are 5 good conference only 4 teams can make it. If OU has a loss and everyone else has a loss OU is on the BOTTOM looking up. If 5 teams go undefeated not happening but if they did OU is at the bottom. OU wins out and another team has a loss OU is in. But if OU losses a game they are going to be need help like a Pac 12 team having 2 losses which is possible Ou conference champion with 1 loss or FSU conference champion with one loss. Who do you take? SEC Pac 12 Big 10 are locks.

Right now I have it SEC winner, Big 10 winner, Pac 12 with 1 loss and Texas winning Big 12 I have FSU out I think they will lose to someone. If it comes down to FSU 1 loss conference champion and OU 1 loss conference champ flip a coin.

Massively dumb and I’ve never heard exactly why that is outside of bits and pieces about some agreement that allowed them to jump into the FBS. I guess I should google it lol

The best thing about the 12 team playoff is that it should eliminate the injustice of G5 teams going undefeated and not even getting a shot. Their schedules are obviously easier but what’s the point in even trying if can win all your games and not even have a shot at playing for a national championship? Might as well just be a separate league at that point. Will be a lot of fun pulling for guys like that in a playoff (unless playing against OU…one Boise was enough lol).

One of ESPN’s Bowl Projections, which is admittedly meaningless at this point, currently has JMU in the Armed Services Bowl v BYU. But they are at least being slotted by some. OU tabbed for Cotton or Peach v Bama and OSU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl (no joke).

I watched plenty of football OU is 6th right now So if they lose how are they jumping anyone? You seem to think they lose they still in the playoffs. Eye test this weekend vs a horrible Central Florida team was not good. They lose they need help and are far from a lock to get in. We not even talking about Alabama. What if they win out. You leaving Georgia out with one loss? My head isn't that far up OU"s you know what. A LOT OF FOOTBALL LEFT TO PLAY but all i'm saying is if the playoffs started next weekend OU IS OUT they are 6.

^I guess it is possible there are not enough 6-6 teams but no idea on likelihood of that. The fact the ESPN “experts” are putting them in I assume meant they thought it could happen.

# 6 in AP. BCS standings are the only poll that matters. Not AP, not coaches. That #6 is not relevant at this point of the season.

Rankings don’t matter right now and won’t until the CFP rankings are released. Those change drastically from week to week and don’t matter all that much until the week before conference championship game weekend.

They take into account ranking when you played them as well as ranking at the end of the season but I think OSU probably ends the season ranked if their only loss for the rest of the season is to a top 5-10 Ou team. I really do get what your saying. There probably won't be 5 on loss teams or 3 undefeated teams and 2 one loss teams. But what I'm saying is the Big 12 as a whole is not very good and if for some odd reason there are 2 teams with 1 loss say OU lost to Byu and FSU lost to Miami but both win their conference championships than you have to pick one of those two teams who are you picking. ACC is slightly better? They have a win or LSU and still have to play a few teams currently ranked OSU playing better but beating Cincy worst team in the league is not going to get them ranked. OU and BYU are really all they have left. Remember they also lost to South Alabama. I can't see any other Big 12 team being ranked at the end of the year. I just don't see it outside OSU winning out. There is nothing left on OSU schedule that is going to get them ranked if OU beats them.

As PhiAlpha pointed out the committee rankings can change drastically through the 6 weeks they do rankings. Why? Because they do not pay attention to where opponents were ranked when played. Past rankings don't matter. For instance, USC was supposed to be right in the middle of contention a few weeks ago. Now we all know they suck. Can't go by their earlier ranking when comparing opponents win/ losses against them.

my guess is the big 12 being anti OU staying was quick sour grapes and cooler heads will prevail and OU wrestling will stay .

i think the same will happen with OU / Texas womens rowing .... (there are 8 big 12 rowing members for next season 4 are Sec schools (OU /texas/tennessee/bama) i don't think the big 12 is going to kick out OU and texas because likely bama and tennsee would leave also and the big 12 would be down to 4 teams ..
